I ALWAYS told any of my employees that if you got PTO denied outside of actual blackout times, it'd be ashame if you happened to be sick for those exact days you requested.
Ive done that. Sucked though because i didn't have sick time left and ended up losing money that day instead of getting paid like i should have.
The concept of having limited sick days is crazy.
Yeah but in countries with near-unlimited sick days you're usually required to bring a doctor's note.
Since they said PTO, ili would expect that sick and vacation come out of the same pool.
