What's the relation with gay bar and domino's? I know about the pizza meter of pentagon but enlighten me about the gay bar meter🫠

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 10 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Its part of the "Pentagon Pizza Index" Link (and yes I know they are sponsored by the "gamble on everything" companies these days)

Its an unusual OSINT tool where you monitor the nearest pizza places near important buildings. If a cartoonishly large amount of pizza is getting delivered to the pentagon, that indicates that teams are pulling all-nighters. This also applies to companies like Valve and Microsoft that have know large known central offices.

Monitoring the local bar scene has similar value, if the number of people there is different past historical data then its safe to assume something is going on.

Well specifically the gay bar because of the large amount of right wingers installed recently and the relationship to large Republican presence and an uptick in grindr and gay related clubs and bars.

[–] Karjalan@lemmy.world 44 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I assume it means the pentagayn employees are hauled into the office for an urgent meeting.

I.E. Less at the gay bar. More pizza deliveries

Thank you, Stannis.

More fewer deliveries? American is a crazy language.

who fucking cares, everyone knows what was meant

since this is grammaticaly incorrect you get an upvote for playfulness

[–] thanksforallthefish@literature.cafe 13 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Not the OP but I would assume this a reference to the fact that Grindr spikes when GOP gathers, ie GOP conference etc ergo the pleb politicians are not involved/havent been gathered to DC.

I'm not sure what value it adds though, I can't imagine Cheetolini seeking approval or briefing them before nuking Iran

[–] Strawberry@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 5 hours ago

the fact that Grindr spikes when GOP gathers

this is misinfo

[–] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 12 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Actually thats just folklore. Recently someone posted the actual stats, there is no discernible spike in app use. No server crashing under the load of all those closeted gays. Sorry to break that bubble

[–] arrow74@lemmy.zip 9 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

And there's no evidence Vance fucked a couch, but I'm still choosing to believe it

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

As a homosexual, please stop lumping toxic conservatives with us. We don't want them. "Hahaha that's gay" is a joke that needs to stay in the 90s.

[–] arrow74@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

As a member of the LGBTQ community myself, I think it's pretty funny.

And it's certainly not a "Hahaha that's gay" joke. That's missing the point

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

That's fine. But not everyone is okay with it. I can't stop people from making jokes, but I feel what I feel. I don't like the association that asshole conservatives can be ridiculed by saying they are closeted gays. I was in the closet for a long time and I hate that it's a joke now. Coming out was a big deal for me and joking about conservatives being in that position makes light of my struggles.

Again, laugh at what you want. I just don't have to like it.

[–] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

I fully agree with you, just as a prelude, and your feelings in that matter are of course valid. I just want to add that the reason people make fun of them for being gay is not that they are supposedly gay, but the fact that they are all wildly hypocritical, sanctimonious assholes who do decidedly never practice what they preach.

[–] Floodedwomb@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago (4 children)

It's also low-key homophobic.

[–] Skankboot@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 hours ago

It's about the hypocrisy, not haha you're gay. If it's real it should be pointed out. The left is eating itself with this take

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

As a gay man, I hate when people make "conservatives are gay and closeted" jokes. My sexuality is not a prop for your rhetoric.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

Yeah. While I'm not going to deny the existence of log cabin Republicans, they're usually people who ain't figured out tokens get spent.
