Rioting does not work in America because our cops have been armed with military grade weapons and are completely empowered to respond with violence at will. Peaceful resistance is what we've been doing and it is working. It's just very very slow and impatient people are gonna be disappointed. Trump and his regime WANT rioting because it gives them the excuse. When your enemy wants you to react a certain way, you don't give them that. So no, we won't be rioting. General strike is a great idea and may be possible but peaceful resistance is our way and it's 100% working. MAGA went from control of every part of our govt to now eating itself. We're winning. No one said it would be easy or fast.
the police in america are not more armed then the people. peacefull resistance is * checks news * yea it is not working.
slow would imply forward progress, not full on degradation the likes of which has never been seen before.
any talk of kowtowing to tyranny because any actual action would justify the actual harm they are already committing is bullshit. if they needed justification, they would manufacture it. they did it already, and we are past the point they even try to justify anything
past resistance has been white washed to promote the peaceful and easily controlled actions, and demonized the ‘radical’ movements when the only reason the peaceful actions got any traction was the presented alternative.
the government eating itself was not a victory of the peaceful resistance! the same way claiming a boycott killed a company because it was bought out by a venture capitalist. the disassembling and destruction of the business for profit was the whole point!!!
we are not winning we are not moving in the correct direction and in the mean time people are dieing all over the world! fuck all the way off.
Cops have APCs, sonic pressure weapons mounted on said APCs, mine resistant vehicles, automatic weapons, helicopters bombs that they have dropped from helicopters on the past, rocket launchers, machine guns, thermal imaging, thermal scopes, night vision, drones with thermal vision, etc...
And they get training from both the IDF and US Special Forces (for some fucking reason). Sadly, these aren't the goon police with no training like they were in the 1900s worker uprisings. The balance of power has shifted dramatically. US resistance movements would essentially have to move into drone warfare tactics in order to not get slaughtered if actual conflict broke out. It isn't Blair Ridge anymore.
and yet they do not have the capability to win a fight against the populous. not even the military.
what’s the militaries track record for winning a war against an insurgency? it’s it once in 100 years? with a protected military industrial complex separated by an ocean. with the worlds most advanced weapons. with unlimited arms budget. with the best training, with the best logistics, there was no advantage the us military didn’t have, and yet we have lost every war against an insurgency except one.
and you argue for capitulation to tyranny with out even trying, embarrassing.
no one ever said it would be fun, or convenient. but i would appreciate you to not stand in the way when there is talk of resistance.
Actually peaceful resistance is the ONLY method that has a successful track record. What ends up happening is violence gives fascists the excuse to crack down and the middle-road fence-sitters see videos of violent protests and side with fascism.
Did you know that MLK actually operated schools for his operatives where they would burn them with cigarettes so they could train themselves not to react when they did their sit-ins?
That is true self-discipline and that's why their movement eventually won out. It took forever and lots of people sacrificed their bodies and lives and time but it changed the mindstate of the country overall to where actual change was enacted.
Trump was right on the verge of using the Insurrection Act, but one by one, every city he swarmed with ICE practiced non-violent reistance and eventually he had to pull them out with no dispatch of national guard. ICE walked away with their reputation stained forever because the protestors never gave them a video or soundbyte they could use against us.
We've got full on networks of anti-ICE resistance now all over the country, we follow the law but we make life very difficult for ICE and do our best to alert communities when they show up. We're doing our best. The midterms are almost here and Trump has a record low approval rating, its about to be a wipeout and its all thanks to American democratic resistance.
