This breaks down for professionals that are self taught though. For example, I still to this day, say in my head "F-Stab " for fstab, instead of "F-S-Tab", and various other terms I learned when i was learning linux myself when I was 13. Didn't understand at the time that it stood for filesystems table, so f-stab is how I pronounced the term in my head. In the UEFI case, I'll just pronounce each letter at a time, U-E-F-I.

Give it time. "tracert" used to be "tray-cert" in my mind for the longest.
I'm saying ‘trace-ert’ inside my mind, simply because that 's way cooler that ‘trace route’ or whatever.
Its been over 20 years, lol f-stab ain't going anywhere.
Depends on the OS for me. Tracert is the way you say it, trace route is the way I say traceroute.

I still pronounce it “n-jinx” even though I know now that’s wrong.
