Sometimes I wonder how much hate is prevented or deferred by America's identity as an immigrant nation and pride in that fact, compared to other western places like Europe.
We do still have "Illegals are coming to take your job" economic anxiety propaganda on the right.
Urban areas where people of different backgrounds live and work together tend to be less racist, rural homogeneous areas tend to be more so.
