Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

What?! Is @Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone gone again?

😨

Edit: personally, she's going to be fine, for the next few days at least.* Has she given up on Lemmy? See my latest post for details...

* Edit edit: as per her alt, @McUberStein@lemmy.zip, I can now publicly say her BF had an injury. I was very worried the consequences might be disastrous, which is why I messaged her to offer emotional support, but he's likely going to fully recover.

FYI, the person above you edited their comment giving your reply a second unintended meaning

Devastating news for the unemployed.

Edit: Keep piling on me instead of the person that fucking doxxed her. Holy shit this really is just Reddit 2.0 for a bunch of sweaties to salivate over a trans girls hornyposting.

Keep piling on me instead of the person that fucking doxxed her.

At least they were doing so in the interest of helping her. You were attacking her for no fucking reason beside your own ego.

Yes, I did what it took to help her and it worked. The police here are mandatory high-school-educated and very good at de-escalation, and in a situation of "her word against mine" (she hadn't started carrying out the plan; they didn't want proof from me, that can be easily faked) they couldn't do anything to her legally. All of the 20+ Czech cops I've interacted with in my life were reasonable and didn't abuse their positions to be mean or angry or go beyond what protocols allow them to do.

I wouldn't have done it if I could have visited her but my bigoted Mom wouldn't let me (it's only a few days later that my therapist told her she's overly controlling, which made her relax this). I consulted Mom (she's still quite close to me) and she said it was the right thing to do. My psychiatrist, psychologist and German teacher, who I confided in, all agreed.

Also, of course I wouldn't if I had contacts to Miisha's close ones who could call her or visit and offer hugs for example, which the police can't do.

By the way, neither Miisha nor me considers this "doxxing". I don't know her address and couldn't find it out if I tried. The police found it in their database and kept it secret from me. If I had known her brother's phone number and used it to make him visit her, without me showing him the posts or him telling me her address of course, would you consider this doxxing?

Shhh

Edit: god you suck for that. I have to come back to your comment... Don't say shit like that to other people. You know that other accounts on here are actually other human beings, with lives, desires, insecurities, and needs? Why would you even say that about somebody? Please stop and check yourself before you hate yourself. And if you're already there, and I suspect you are, don't take it out on others, and go get help. You don't have to be a piece of shit, you aren't showing off to anybody. Most people who upvote stuff like you're saying are callous in passing, but wouldn't say stuff like what you said in real life because they aren't awful human beings, and the ones that would or do, ARE awful human beings. Do your best not to take after those people.

Lol, you're right. My presence here was nothing but an annoyance to people anyway. Don't worry tho, I'm probably not coming back. You can enjoy your clean feeds now.

I never said anything but I always liked your posts!

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 12 points 2 days ago

No, Miisha, the few people who didn't like your posts know they can block you, so they did and moved on.

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I found most of your memes pretty funny for what it’s worth

[–] MagicPterodactyl@lemmy.ml 9 points 2 days ago

Not true at all most people loved your posts.

[–] gothmog@lemmy.today 7 points 2 days ago

Oh dear. Where will I get my hornyposts now?!?

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't WANT a clean feed. I need real humanity and validation of my needs, not sterilized shiteating puritanical fascism. I know how the swing goes. And there are a lot of idiots on here, of ALL flavors, I'm amongst them. But please, please, please don't compromise on being yourself. You're ALWAYS going to offend people, no matter what. You cannot please everybody, it's impossible.

So take the time you need, and be safe and well. But know that, should you choose to return, there will always be at least a few people here who appreciate what you're bringing to the table. And judging by the upvotes on this post, I honestly think it's actually the majority.

The rare few people (if any) who want a "clean feed" can block her and likely just did and moved on

Ignore spacecowboy92, that person is just confused and hurt and trying to fix themselves and making the mistake of tearing down others.

[–] JustAnotherKay@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

But what hornyposts am I gonna send my partner every day now
