The conviction rate is relevant when it is being argued that being convicted of rape destroys the rapists life and only the Epstein class gets away with rape.

It is not just the Epstein class that gets away with rape.

A 20-year review of reported rape and sexual assault cases found that 89% were “founded” by law enforcement, meaning police determined that the crime more than likely occurred.

But only 8% of reported rape and sexual assault cases ended in conviction.

In other words, police believed most reports, but very few cases led to the perpetrator’s conviction. Survivors can be believed and still not get the legal outcome they seek.

Justice requires more than recognizing harm. It requires systems prepared to move cases forward and support survivors through what comes next.

No, it's not at all relevant to the discussion. It's a completely different discussion.

Because the discussion is how the conviction affects those 8% of people. Not that only 8% of people are convicted.

It also has no bearing on the topic of whether the ultra wealthy get away with it more than the working class, unless you provide the stats for the ultra wealthy.

The conversation you're trying to have is about low conviction rates, which is a valid topic, but a different conversation.

We were initially talking about how the conviction rate affects those 8%. And then we moved on to whether it is just Epstein class rapists that escape punishment for rape.

When conviction rates are around 8% of rape cases, that is proof that it is not just the Epstein class that avoids prosecution and conviction.

No, you just started talking about low conviction rates as if it's relevant to the main topic of how the conviction affect the convicted.

You brought up how being convicted of rape will make the rapists unemployable.

So I brought statistics about how low the conviction rates are for rapists.

Low conviction rates have absolutely no bearing on whether a convicted rapist is employable.

And here is my original comment in this particular conversation where I bring up the 8% stat and CLEARLY FUCKING STATE THAT IT ISN'T JUST RICH PEOPLE THAT ESCAPE CONVICTION:

But only 8% of reported rape and sexual assault cases ended in conviction.

It's not just the rich that don't get prosecuted.

Here's another one of my comments that you are outright ignoring.

It is NOT just rich people that don’t get prosecuted for rape and sexual assault.

You edited this out when you quoted my comments.

That's the whole point of me bringing that particular stat.

You're being disingenuous editing my comments like that.
