To be fair, there ARE great anime soundtracks out there. They get actual bands/musicians to make them. But yes, anon probably has shit taste in music.

Ther's Yoko Kano, Nujabes, Tsuneo Imahori... people like that...

... and then theres 192 bpm J-Pop song #4838573.

And then of course there's Jojo, where... basically half or more of the characters just are named after, or a pun on classic rock bands or songs.

Whole wide spectrum out there, but there certainly is a lot of formulaic slop.

I definitely agree (RIP Nujabes)

More of a joke about someone calling "anime soundtracks" a genre because they're musically uncultured. I don't even like The Doors lol

The problem with anime soundtracks is they get me excited about the source band, only to find out they don’t have any other music like it.

Had the same problem with the Blade Runner soundtrack.
