Mind you:

  • She is still quite right-wing
  • She is resigning from Congress in the face of right-wing threats rather than mounting any kind of meaningful opposition

So, what's her next move, then? It's not like she's going to move to the left.

I assume she's going to bide her time, wait until Taco flames out/passes away, and then, when there is a huge influx of "sudden independents" that never heard of this Taco guy and/or the Republican Party, that's when she starts mounting some new astroturfed bullshit like the teabagger scam. It's weird how all those teabaggers (later, renamed "Tea Party") voted Republican, LOL, and the corporate media pretended to be baffled by this newfound "movement" that was just an obviously astroturfed Republican thing and you could discover this bit of information with about 30 seconds of looking into it.

Or, she'll just bide her time and find some way to get on the Wingnut Welfare circuit - see Regnery, Heritage, Coors, Koch, ALEC, (or, these days, just get the money from Russia) etc...there is just huge gobs of cash to be made for people with no morals or principles to be handed by such nefarious groups.

The conservatives are always projecting about "Soros", but the reality is that there is nothing like this apparatus on the left...
