The entire purpose of Jesus being born and living was to choose to willingly die on the cross so he could take on humanities sins. Without his death, there would be no Christianity.

Like you're supposed to read your comment and be like "ohhhhh OK, in that case..."

It's all fucking dumb. Yahweh is supposed to be all-powerful (and all knowing and all loving, etc.), yet the only way he could "save humanity" was to come up with a convoluted plan involving splitting himself into a human form, sending it to earth for 30+ years, and then violently executing it?

Couldn't he just have, I don't know, done none of that?

I didn't say it makes sense. For me, it doesn't. Just pointing out that that is how the Christian religion believes it to be.
