this is assuming the voting is fair and not-rigged. who's always accusing dems of voter fraud? GOP. who does it almost always end up being when there's actual voter fraud? also GOP

we know there's rampant gerrymandering and voter suppression going on, and that fascist gestapo thugs will be roving the election sites (which are drastically reduced in number thanks to GOP state boards of elections) in order to intimidate voters. can you thinKKK of another instance of this sort of thing happening in the not-too-distant past? except this time it's the feds doing the intimidating, not inbred hicks. we also know that a number of states have made it so their legislature can just throw away and overturn results they "don't like," so...there's that

i wish i had more optimism for the outcome of this miderm, but i don't. i'm afraid it will be a literal bloodbath

this is assuming the voting is fair and not-rigged.

There will certainly be rigging, but the United States is not one country with one election to rig, it's 50 individual states with their own voting systems, their own security and validation systems and so on.

Sure, they will focus on battlegrounds and swing states worth the most points, as always, but they are WAY overreaching if they think they can cheat the whole thing.

If they had that much control, we wouldn't see so many progressive candidates in local and state elections sweeping the table right now. That fact alone is terrifying them because even if they win the mid-terms and 2028, without a strong, local foundation supporting them in every state, they will be powerless. There are still some safeguards built into the USA on a deep level, and while they're eroding fast, they may still save us from total, rapid destruction.

Just gonna leave us with the slow, steady, inexorable march into banal decay.

seems to me, this midterm is our last chance. if it is a chance, that is
