If you know any progressive or leftist that supports companies like Apple, Microsoft, or OpenAI, this is the video to show them. It's important to ask the tough question of "What would a company have to do to lose you as a consumer?" Another relevant topic I think that's important and ties into this is Hank Green's latest video on Electricity costs (Electricity is About to be Like Housing), the future and purchasing of energy stocks, and what the tech companies have to gain or lose in the sector.

Where are the other world leaders? Where are the rest of our politicians? Where are the journalists? Where are the general strikes? Where are the weekly protests? Where are the sit-ins, the occupy movement.

Where's is the pushback?

They are the minority. We are the majority. Let's act like it.

Fuck the division by race, creed, age, sexual preference. It's a class war, and there's too many of us for them to win.

How about the other industries? Do the weapons manufacturers and oil companies do the same?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 hours ago

Trump kisses the ass of oil companies, not vice-versa.

Trump cozies up to Big Tech specifically because their corporate surveillance network can be co-opted to turbocharge the fascist dictatorship he's putting in place, and also because he needs their resources for his crypto scams.

The backdoors have been there for years without dinners. The CEOs are not stupid. If we see it as a humiliation then they won't feel honored.

The backdoors have been there for years without dinners.

Yes of course. Corruption and sucking up to the powers that be is nothing new.

What's new - at least in the United States - is the willingness of those ultra-rich sycophants to perform the Dear Leader song-and-dance publicly without any shame. It's really quite nauseating to watch.

Tech leaders take turns at the Trump bukkake dinner.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 7 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

If I can't wear a t shirt and tell people that genuinely suck to fuck the fuck off, why the hell would I want to be a billionaire? If billions can't get me out of a suit and get my lips out of peoples asses what is the glamor in money?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 hours ago

Well, for one thing, you can have a really big boat.

[–] Sludgehammer@lemmy.world 10 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

God dammit, I was gonna do that joke. (as were most of the other commenters I'm sure)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Apple Thanks President Trump for Being the Most Pro-Technology President Ever; Introduces the Trump Channel on Apple TV

Cupertino, California — Apple today announced a bold new partnership with the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, thanking him for his unwavering support of technology, innovation, and large gold letters on buildings. In recognition of his tireless contributions—like personally inventing the iPhone before Steve Jobs “borrowed” the idea—Apple is proud to launch The Trump Channel on Apple TV.

“President Trump is, without question, the most pro-technology president the world has ever seen,” said Tim Cook, staring blankly into the middle distance. “His visionary policies—such as renaming Wi-Fi to ‘Trump-Fi’ and personally boosting 5G by standing next to a cell tower—have created the greatest jobs numbers in the history of silicon. Truly, nobody’s ever seen anything like it.”

The Trump Channel will feature:

Exclusive Original Programming, including The Apprentice: Cabinet Edition and Shark Tank but Everyone’s a Trump. 24/7 Coverage of the Jobs Report, with real-time updates on how many people are thanking him with tears in their eyes. Epstein Documentary Section, labeled “FAKE HOAX,” automatically skipping to golf highlights at Mar-a-Lago. A dedicated Covfefe Mode, where subtitles don’t make sense but still claim to be “the best words.” Apple TV+ subscribers will get access to the Trump Channel at no extra charge—because as Trump has pointed out, “Tim Apple owes me big league.” Availability

The Trump Channel on Apple TV will roll out starting today in the U.S., with international launches pending approval from leaders who appreciate “big beautiful deals.”

[–] Skiluros@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 hour ago

Will Tim Apple be a special guest on the "Ow, my balls!!" premier on the Trump channel?

[–] SmackemWittadic@lemmy.world 11 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

We've gotten to a point when satire is genuinely so close to reality that it is indiscernible

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 hours ago

If this is real, people are still going to buy iPhone's. That's how shit this country is.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

I read the first para and thought it was real

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 31 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Billionaires love power without effort or responsibility. Kissing the shit-stained ass of their puppet is a small price to pay.

[–] tehn00bi@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago

This a version of the Dubai portapotty?

[–] xyzzy@lemmy.today 13 points 9 hours ago

Just billionaires doing billionaire things.

Time to eliminate all billionaires, either through taxation or other means.

[–] arcterus@piefed.blahaj.zone 11 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Not really disproving my view that execs are basically the easiest members of a corporation to replace with an AI. Tell an AI to suck up to Trump and randomly lay off workers to "improve efficiency" and you're golden.

[–] HumanoidTyphoon@quokk.au 4 points 7 hours ago

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit

[–] tehn00bi@lemmy.world 8 points 9 hours ago

🤢 They know they are in a bubble that’s about to burst and looking to get some of that sweet socialism.

[–] TuffNutzes@lemmy.world 7 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

Their servile obsequiousness is a delicacy at the Trump Whitehouse.

Fucking pathetic. Both for him wanting it and them giving it to him. Just wow.

[–] Marshezezz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 7 hours ago
[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 7 points 9 hours ago

Didn't Bill Gates fly on the lolita express or something? Bet half the room is on Epstein's list.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

New round of Pedos fucking kids at the White House?

Wow, did Nazi that coming.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 8 hours ago

CHICAGO SURVIVED THIS WEEK!

Edit- I thought that would only be the gifts and small penis gag as per the article. Will replace with a better clip if I can find one.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world -2 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (3 children)

When he can tank your company, what do you expect them to do?

*Put the blame on Trump.

[–] sad_detective_man@leminal.space 3 points 6 hours ago

let's not get in to what I think billionaires should do

[–] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 15 points 9 hours ago

That doesn't mean it's not sickening.

Also, fucking Bill Gates isn't running a company. He's just there because he likes being around disgusting psychopathic billionaires. They're his kind, he's among peers.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 2 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

I expect them to be humans not corpo fucks.
