I have seen this sentiment echoed here many times before, and every time the claimant manages to spell Richard Nixon wrong.

Almost every misstep and national ill you can pin on the Republicans that Reagan popularized, Nixon actually started. He was the original ratfucker. In fact, it was his people who coined the term.

It's kind of that Nixon walked so that Reagan could run. The southern strategy put the Republican party on the path to eliminating all traces of being the party of Lincoln, but he also did some good things like creating the EPA. Reagan's tenure pretty much had no redeeming qualities. Except, I guess, the vibes were pretty good, from what I hear.

Not unlike how the incremental fascism of Bush, Clinton, Dubya, Obama, Donald I, then Biden gave us the Gestapo president we have now.

I think Reagan reducing the top tax rate had the biggest impact.

The x axis should be time, and the y axis should be "some metric"

My friend and I have an ongoing debate about whether he or Nixon were the crux of the problem.

My opinion is that while Nixon may have started the car, Reagan shifted it into drive, the a brick on the gas pedal, and let it go right off the edge of the cliff.

This graph really pains me visually.

First there was Ronald McDonald, then Ronald, and now Donald. The three horsemen of the apocalypse, Ronald, Ronald, and Donald.

Whoa, things really go bad when we transition from adding numbers up to instead using the metric system
