Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Says the most amoral person to ever walk the earth.

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 months ago

Wow, wow! So just because his best mate for decades was a convicted paedo and trafficker
AND that they both enjoyed their 'wonderful secrets'
AND he's a racist
AND a confirmed rapist
AND has many criminal convictions
AND is an unregistered kiddie fiddler
AND has no positive personality traits whatsoever
AND is devoid of basic empathy, and any emotion that a decent person has, then that makes him amoral?

Just leave the tiny handed orange paedo alone!!!

If there is no international law then is open season too for his head.

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm not seeing how the two are related. Isn't the resentment brewing at home already a ground for said open season?

[–] bufalo1973@piefed.social 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If there is no international law anyone can put a target on his head if it suits their ends. Not just US citizens but anyone.

C'mon, I know there's a drunken angry bitter Canuck with a fine long rifle who can do the US a solid. The only requirement is that you have three names. Y'know like Robert Joe Whippens or Alvin James Wayhay.

What kind of morals include raping children?

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

A rich person whose been bailed out at every turn has a sense of morality that it'll all just work out in his favor. So raping kids just isn't that big a deal to him.

Sounds to me like I no longer need to listen to federal law, and let my morality dictate my actions. And that morality says that Trump and every Republican party member needs a bullet to the head.

"If only if only," the woodpecker sighed.

[–] ViceroTempus@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Oh neat I don't get this reference. What's the work this line is from?

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] ViceroTempus@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Fuck guess it's time for a reread. Thanks.

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Here's the full quote:

"If only, if only, " the woodpecker sighs "The bark on the trees was as soft as the skies" As the wolf waits below, hungry and lonely He cries to the moo-oo-oon, "If only, if only"

[–] ViceroTempus@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Nope it's been too long, at least 20 years since I've read it. So the memory of the passage and context are lost to me at this moment. Though I do joke with my wife that she's my Zero. (I'm of German descent married to a Jewish latino, so you can imagine how current events are an issue for me.)

[–] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 1 points 2 months ago

No you see national law is still in effect. Just not international

[–] snekerpimp@lemmy.world 19 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Delusions of grandeur much? Next he’s going to tell us he’s Jesus and he needs sacrifices of girls under 15 to stop the nuclear apocalypse.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Even delusions of adequacy would be ill-founded in his case.

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

Mans got delusions of subpar performance

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

So.... nothing. In regards to him and his capacity for morality, he's constrained by nothing.

[–] ViceroTempus@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

According to the Epstein files he murdered a baby by taking it from a 13yo's arms and throwing it into the lake.

Just to add to your point that he's constrained by nothing.

How did this whole planet come to be about the needs of just one man ?

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Basically? Chimpanzees evolved into smarter violent monsters and after a while developed ways to be insanely violent while not triggering a large percentage of their species empathy responses.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Oh ok. So the country's leader doesn't need laws. I mean, if he insists.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Will no one rid us of this turbulent president?

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Nope! The concept of sovereignty requires us to do it ourselves. Nobody is coming to save us.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Who said it wouldn't be an American citizen?
