Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Just after Trump finished taping a 13-minute interview on Tuesday with Dokoupil in Michigan, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt approached Dokoupil and his colleagues with a message from the president.

“He said, ‘Make sure you guys don’t cut the tape, make sure the interview is out in full,” Leavitt said.

“Yeah, we’re doing it, yeah,” Dokoupil responded.

Leavitt said, “He said, ‘If it’s not out in full, we’ll sue your ass off.’”

Cool. Directly violating the first amendment is fun.

[–] SheepHerder@lemmy.world 38 points 2 days ago (1 children)

On top of the rest. Nobody cares enough to do something about it.

[–] orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I care enough. What should I do?

What's weird is that See BS no longer cares about that kind of stuff anyway as an institution captured by the right, and that bitch is threatening them anyway.

"Due to threats to our staff made by the office of the pedophile president by way of his mouthpiece, we have decided not to air an interview he made with us. Instead, here is a list of crimes his office has committed since the 20th of January last year."

Haha, you joke! This is CBS we're talking about! They'll do exactly as the regime desires because that's what they've been doing for at least the past two months.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago

Exactly. CBS is state sponsored media

I expected this administration to start locking up journalists last year but it turned out there really was no need. They mostly rolled over and let Trump do what he wanted.

The billionaires bought the media and real journalists quit or are being silenced

[–] KindnessIsPunk@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

Or died trying to cover Palestine or Ukraine.

At this rate it's Congress' limp dick energy that let's them get away with this. It's absolutely amazing how spineless the institution has become.

The Mob "presidency".

To be fair, when I was her age I was a complete fucking mess also.

There’s no reason to be fair, though.

[–] yonderbarn@lazysoci.al 4 points 1 day ago

She's 28 and her husband is 60. They just had a child

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I wonder what will happen to her once the trump admin falls. Please do tell me that this absolute piece of shit gets at least jail time

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Probably a cushy job at newsmax

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

Yet is someone wanted to sue Trump, the Supremes would probably toss it out of court. What do you call a ruler who can never be held to account by his subjects?

[–] gustofwind@lemmy.world -1 points 2 days ago
