His base will lap it up. Plus, it feeds the outrage machine that sustains him.

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

This is actually peak comedy when you're a psychopathic child rapist.

[–] j_elgato@leminal.space 57 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Should knock Epstein out of the news cycle for at least a day or two.

And the whole of our civilization slides further towards the Doom...

[–] Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 month ago

I guess there's nothing else to do but rip and tear.

[–] CptEnder@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Yep straight out of the P2025 playbook. It's a shame we know that and yet every newsroom will still play into it.

[–] totesmygoat@piefed.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Mainly America is heading that way. The rest of us will be happier when you fall. We are tired of you guys already

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 50 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Michelle and Barack have both always polled much more highly than Trump. Sure it amps up his core base of bigots but what else does it really do?

Edit: Oh of course it distracts us from his brownshirt thugs and Epstein files. I should know this play by now.

There is no rock bottom for these people.

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 22 points 1 month ago

The only common people left in MAGA are the people who would gleefully laugh at this.

This isn't their bottom, it's their top. We need to act accordingly.

Every press question to his regime for the next few days should be do you condemn the President posting a blatantly racist video against a former president. Every question to Trump should be are you a rascist, why did you post the video. Don’t actually care about the dementia ramble Trump will spout. Watching the rest of his regime bend over backwards to defend one president but not another will just be evidence for their future trials

And by doing this, journalists would be taking the focus off:

  • The Epstein files
  • ICE
  • Election meddling
  • etc.

That's the plan.

[–] galoisghost@aussie.zone 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Everything is a distraction form everything else.

There needs to be a hardline where pushback begins. Out and out racism seems like a good one based on the other things.

[–] jacksilver@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I feel like that is very much the case, and yet its horrifying that it seems to work. Like, how does the average American hear horror story after horror story and not care. Each incident just makes him look worse and worse to me.

[–] rayyy@piefed.social 4 points 1 month ago

Real journalists would be concentrating on the Epstein files instead of promoting the lies of a serial liar.

[–] DaMummy@hilariouschaos.com 1 points 1 month ago

I don't follow TV media much, but every time I glance past it, I see stories about that one news readers mother being kidnapped. This country deserves everything it's getting.

[–] Jumbie@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 month ago (2 children)

There are no journalists left to do this thing.

[–] galoisghost@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago
[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

The ones who would will never get an interview.

[–] SpicyLizards@reddthat.com 17 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Luckily this is the first racist thing trumpet has ever done...

How did we get here...

[–] FudgyMcTubbs@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is Trump racist?! Wtf? When did this happen? I wish there would have been clear evidence before this. He hid it so well.

[–] MrsVeggies@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 month ago

He certainly has claimed to be the least racist person ever.

[–] lIlIlIlIlIlIl@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Dementia symptoms aside, we either need to remove him or prosecute him

[–] HeadfullofSoup@kbin.earth 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

There is the execution route too let’s not forget

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago

Americans have been executed for so much less. I don't even think this is a controversial statement.

That would just be the justice system working as designed.

Trump is a criminal who has committed first degree murder, is a traitor to the constitution, has raped children..... the only reason it's considered controversial to suggest the state should execute him is because he's in charge, nothing more. Ethically and logically it's a totally fair statement.

Arrest him, have a trial, and if the evidence shows he is what we all think he is, then let him serve the same punishment as any other American would. And that would be treating him better than he deserves.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 9 points 1 month ago

They said it was just a meme but that didn't work so now they deleted it and are blaming it on a staffer.

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago

If you're not American and you buy their shit when you have an alternative, you are part of this.

[–] Dagnet@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I'm so glad I live in a country where racism is a crime

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Oh, is it monday yet?

[–] 100_kg_90_de_belin@feddit.it 2 points 1 month ago

Berlusconi dissed Schulz with "I'll put in a good word for you as the kapo" and it looks like amateurs' hour in comparison to this

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

In other news this page removed my criticism of Israel for “antisemitism” . I’m going to argue that racism is a much bigger problem in this country and criticism of Israel is not antisemitism because Israel is a country not a religion
