Translation: It’s time for Dunkin’ & Starbucks to pay their bribe… I mean make a political donation.

[–] leagman1@feddit.org 45 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Meanwhile his president hosts top athletes eating McDonald's.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I still can't believe it.

Imagine you get invited to the White House. Sure, the current president is a PoS, but still - it's a once-in-a-lifetime honor. And if nothing else, there'll at least be some really good food.

And then you arrive there, and the first thing you see...

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 6 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Cold fucking mcdonalds food. So gross, but this is literally how Trump eats.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 9 hours ago

Clearly the McDonalds CEO doesn't eat that shit.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 3 points 20 hours ago

Hamberders as far as the eye can see

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If it wasn't happening irl I'd think it's a parody of our country

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Honestly, it is. Donald Trump is a parody of an evil narcissistic rich guy, of course he'd turn the country into an evil narcissistic parody of itself.

[–] baronvonj@piefed.social 5 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Donal Trump is a real evil narcissistic rich guy, not a parody of one.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 4 points 13 hours ago

But that's the thing, he behaves like a parody of one.

You'd think an evil narcissistic rich guy would try to deal in the shadows, but Trump is just brazenly open about it.

You'd think an evil narcissistic rich guy would try to hide his pedophilia, but Trump literally publically lusted after his teenage daughter, and mentioned how Epstein has a similar taste.

It doesn't matter what, Trump behaves like parody - and still his followers can't see it.

Hilariously, conservatives are notorious for being against controls of this sort. Seattle tried to put in a sugar tax and it caused all sorts of uproar about personal freedoms. A stopped clock may be right twice a day, but this is not the way to effect change.

[–] Flying_Penguin@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 day ago

They are against controls of this sort if they are not the ones trying to force them.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago (1 children)

LOL! Remember how the cons were clutching their fucking pearls over discussions about limiting the size of the Big Gulp?

The same people that were Karening the fuck out over masks, social distancing and remote work during a - checks notes - a pandemic are going to let the "party of small government" police their Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts drinks now? 🤣

[–] Asafum@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"It's only ok when we do it."

It's like #1 on the list of "conservative" values.

Their hypocrisy infuriates me... Words are just weapons to them.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The same people absolutely queening out over Michelle Obama suggesting school lunches be healthier and that kids get off the couch and that people try gardening to get fresh vegetables are now down to clown with the "maha" stuff.

"Mah bawdy, mah chuhyce! Ha ha libz yew ahr soh owned! See wut uh did there?!"

-- Republicans, unless a Republican says it, then they line up like good drones to nod and clap like seals.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 5 hours ago

Yeah but Michelle Obama is black and got all uppity

[–] billbasher@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

I love when interviewers ‘accidentally’ attribute quotes to the other party, get Repubs to disagree/agree and the suddenly say ‘oops that was this person’ and watch them have to backtrack hard

[–] Naich@lemmings.world 23 points 1 day ago

Safer than eating roadkill and getting a worm in your brain, dipshit.

[–] ThomasWilliams@lemmy.world 3 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

The Dunkin' Donut 48 fl.oz. bucket contains 600 mg of caffeine.

The recommended US maximum is 400 mg per day.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

Ok, first off…

Bucket?!?! This totally sounds like an SNL skit.

Secondly… why does this moron have any say so on what’s healthy? He looks like a microwaved Mel Gibson and sounds like he gargled glass and rocks for an hour.

God I can’t wait to get back to just being able to ignore everything an administration does because it’s at least reasonable even if don’t necessarily agree with it. Well if we get back, it’s definitely a possibility it won’t happen.

[–] Sabin10@lemmy.world 12 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Weird how 6 cups of coffee has about as much caffeine as 6 cups of coffee.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 9 hours ago

wait...wait...ok. I got the same answer.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (2 children)

“We’re going to ask Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks, ‘Show us the safety data that show that it’s OK for a teenage girl to drink an iced coffee with 115 grams of sugar in it,’” Kennedy told the applauding audience. “I don’t think they’re gonna be able to do it.”

Straight from Mr "just do coke off toilet seats" himself...

Like, broken clock and all, but it's telling the only part of women's health they care about is underage girls getting fat

[–] outofthisworld@lemmy.org 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I do agree sugar is bad. I hate that there is a topic I agree with him on. But I doubt his concern is for the teenage girl’s health—and more about him not liking to fuck fat teen girls

[–] grue@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

That was the parent comnenter's implication, yes.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Wait, we may have cracked the key to solving the rich pedophile problem…

[–] 6stringringer@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yo bro, stfu & go do some more damn blow of a toilet!

[–] silence7@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)
[–] TwilitSky@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Why does it have to be a teenage girl in his example? Why are these people so creepy?

[–] TomMasz@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Safer than drinking raw milk.

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Vance should know. He digs doughnuts. Just doesn’t know how to order.

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

How many donuts do you think he can stuff in between two couch cushions?

he'll be the first kennedy lynched in massachusetts

[–] Asidonhopo@lemmy.world -2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Dont they just put hot coffee in a weird plastic bag thing and let it cool down to room temperature? Nasty shit, Dunkins iced coffee.

[–] Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

sort of yes. you take the canister and line it with the plastic bag. then you fill it (about half) with ice, and put it under the brewer. The coffee is brewed 2x as strong so when the ice dilutes it is .. not actually diluted.

Cold brew is coffee pouches put in the same plastic lined container, and stored in the fridge overnight.

I drink Iced Americanos (a spoiled one I am). They brew a double shot of espresso into a metal canister, and pour it over 3/4 full cup of Ice, and add water to fill.

I dont really care for dunkins Iced coffee, but it is not that gross to make it really. The dairy cream/milk machines helped me go vegan though, they are.. so nasty. We clean them, but, ew. You can pull my iced Americano from my cold dead hands though, and not a moment before.

edit,

read a bit of the article. The amount of sugar in some of the beverages people would order was/is levels that are, objectivly, gross and dangerously unhealthy.

A lady one time came in an ordered a medium ice coffee, with carmel, sugar, and cream, but she wanted 8/8/8. 8 carmel pumps, 8 sugars, 8 cream. Standard for a medium is 3.

there was no room in the cup for coffee, we handed this "coffee" out, with no coffee in the cup. I will never forget it.

Some of the specialty drinks.. are just pure sugar loaded ontop of more sugar. ( btw swirls already have sugar, and some even have dairy, why do people add more on top?) but this regular fella was coming in every morning, for weeks, and ordering a drink and food, The total calories were a whopping 1400, just for breakfast, and I forget how much exactly, but his meal was over 100g of sugar. I calculated it out of disgust one day. I dont know how he was able to eat/drink that everyday. I remember he always got whip cream and both drizzles, and cookie crumbles, and then food on top of this outright bizarre dessert drink. 1400 calories at 9am. my god.

one lady would order a latte with uh, cream. like, large hot latte (just a double shot of esspresso, usually with milk added) but she wanted cream. nothing like drinking a pint of heavy cream first thing in the morning eh?

but, just like, educate people on sugar. this admin cant be fuckin trusted. like others have said, they probably just want a payout.
