Targeting people who DO NOT LIKE FASCISM.
That should really tell you something.
While in an alternate universe where Kamala Harris and Democrats won the 2024 elections, it's 'Harris Signs Order Targeting Maga Movement"
I think it's time to stop using the contraction, and start using the full term, in all cases.
"Trump signs order targeting the anti-fascist movement", is far more illustrative of what he's actually trying to accomplish with this declaration.
Say it plainly. Anyone who stands against fascism, is now considered a terrorist, in the United States.
This is why they should be called Republicans. Republicans are doing this. Not MAGA. Not the right. Not conservatives.
77 million Republicans voted for this.
Let's make them spell it out like hangman. I'm now antifasc.
Pro-fascist trump signs order targeting anti-fascists!
Come on you feckless shits it can be evident easily and people can understand it plainly.
So there is no "domestic terrorist org" designation under law, the feds can already go after people for illegal activities, and antifa isn't a group with leaders or members to dismantle.
Sounds like more meaningless intimidation. Like superfluous name changes and gold-painted decor, it's all meant to prop him up as the cheap dime-store dictator he is.
Release the Epstein files, Donald.
Sounds like everyone will be at risk, because they can just send you to a private prison like the brown people.
Sounds like more meaningless intimidation. Like superfluous name changes and gold-painted decor, it’s all meant to prop him up as the cheap dime-store dictator he is.
Not to be demeaning because i admire your innocence, but GOT DAMN, you sweet summer child..!
Step one: "antifa is terrorists."
Step two: "Bernie is an antifa terrorist."
Step three: bye bye Bernie..
Step four: "AOC is an antifa terrorist."
Step five: bye bye AOC...
Step six: "Zohran Mamdani is antifa..."
This is the third or fourth domino, not "meaningless intimidation." This is the Train Station, being built, in real-time.
Mr. Trump’s order said that he was declaring antifa a “domestic terrorist organization” — a designation that does not actually exist under U.S. law
Here's the problem with just saying he can't do that, it doesn't matter if he can't when he already did. To his cult, that's all it takes, legal doesn't matter, only that Trump said so.
It means that there is no way to prosecute people under that definition via current legal frameworks.
If you're a terrorist they don't have to prosecute you.
Prosecute maybe not, but persecute... Given the number of crimes he's been tried for and convicted of and his wholesale dismissal of the court's validity when things don't go his way, I'm sure extrajudicial is good enough for him.
So, would that include any WWII vets?
If you are anti-antifa, that means you're fa.
Imagine thinking signing a piece of paper with a series of open faced triangles Thanos snaps an idea out of existence.
a) conservative vocabulary is just repeating what others say
b) people call them fascist, therefore they will call others fascist back
c) they will call the next Democratic admin fascists (assuming there's still elections) which would let you target conservatives for being antifa terrorists
I know it's all BS and unlikely to work that way but hey
So the lemmy.world mods are safe, and will now—because laws and rules—begin to silence all anti-fascist comments…
@jordanlund@lemmy.world, you gonna break the law, support fascism, or quit?
Feel free to read the modlog before you think you have an opinion on Floo:
https://lemmy.world/modlog?page=1&actionType=All&userId=13649790
https://lemmy.world/modlog?page=1&actionType=All&userId=14403867
I dunno anything about a Floo user. My comment is unrelated to that topic.
Sorry about that, I assumed due to the removed Floo content below. I needed a shower after that one! Not even kidding!
I'm not too concerned about the Antifa thing because as I stated elsewhere in this thread and others, it's not REALLY about Antifa, it's a dog whistle Trump is going to use to go after George Soros.

At this point I think we can pretty much start the clock, probably in October? Definitely before Thanksgiving.
My question is, if people start being prosecuted for being “antifa” or, for their anti-fascist remarks/actions/whatever. Is .world gonna be a little bitch or are they going to allow it regardless of the risk?
Allow what? News articles about it? Sure, it was before my time on Lemmy, but when Trump goons were illegally black bagging people in Portland, stories like that would be allowed:
An action which was blatantly illegal on the face of it, but got WORSE when people figured out that the guy behind it, Chad Wolf (not a made up name), was himself SERVING illegally.
What Lemmy will not allow is promoting or organizing violence. If you want a rebellion, this is not the place to talk about it. In fact, you shouldn't be talking about it online AT ALL. It's not secure, too easy to track, too easy to subpoena, etc.
We won't allow the inevitable headline of "the deceased terroists organized on a platform called 'Lemmy'."
It was bad enough when one of our mods blew up a fertility clinic.
I mean comments that are anti-fascist, not just news articles about topics considered by many of us to be about fascism.
Let’s consider trump’s ability to do stuff regardless of how a judge denies him. Then let’s imagine a world in the very near future where Trump goes full-McCarthy and people are detained just on suspicion of being or associating with “antifa.”
Now, if I post a comment such as, “I am antifa and I support overthrowing of the fascist US government”
Will you or will you not remove that comment?
Supporting overthrowing the government would be a call to violence and would be removed as above.
Do not call for violence on the Lemmy platform.
Call for new elections? Absolutely. Call for impeachment and removal from office? +1 Would upvote again. Arrests, prosecutions, and prison time? Yup, yup, yup. "RICO Act"? At least buy me a drink first.
Do not call for violent acts.
That's how we got 1/6.
I didn’t call for violence. I called to overthrow the fascist government.
Voting, arresting, impeaching, are all things that don’t happen with a fascist government, so calling for those by name is a waste of time.
You can't overthrow a government non-violently.
See the last real attempt in Myanmar:
https://news.un.org/en/story/2024/09/1154436
Even having control over the military, it was still violent. Now imagine opposing the military.
I feel like you’re not really answering the question because you know the moment .world cracks down, you will obey and remove all content that could be considered antifa.
Anything that is non violent is absolutely fine, always has been.
What's the tea here 👀
I think it’s based on where Lemmy.world is hosted and there is a law that they can’t spread violence advocation or something so there was a lot of comments that were removed during the Luigi stuff.
I think it’s about this?
No, floo was telling other users to kill themselves and that was some of their least hateful comments.
Ah! Thank you for the context.
It’s not a reference to Floo. I have no idea who they are.
It’s a commentary on Jordan, and other mods, removing any calls for action against fascism that are any more extreme than standing on a corner politely voicing your opinion.
They argue that the instance would be liable—which has never happened. Now that any anti-fascist comments will draw the attention of the government, I am curious if .world (and others) plan to err on the side of caution—as usual—or if they plan to grow a pair.
Correct.
That’s pretty sweet.
A fat guy signed a paper, who cares? It has no legal weight other than, directing the fascist beura of Investigation, to do what it's been doing for 100 years, targeting leftwing activists and militias. I put more weight in the constitution and the founding fathers rather than these fat ducks.
It's not about Antifa, it's about George Soros. Wait for it.
https://www.adl.org/resources/blog/soros-conspiracy-theories-and-protests-gateway-antisemitism
Fuck the ADL and the hateful bullshit they spew. Disgusting Zionist group should be outlawed.
Doesn't make them wrong when talking about the bullshit levelled at Soros.
Guy who likes to shake his fists at windmills also likes to tilt at them...
Terrorism is when you don't support fascism.
