I think it's time to stop using the contraction, and start using the full term, in all cases.
"Trump signs order targeting the anti-fascist movement", is far more illustrative of what he's actually trying to accomplish with this declaration.
Say it plainly. Anyone who stands against fascism, is now considered a terrorist, in the United States.
This is why they should be called Republicans. Republicans are doing this. Not MAGA. Not the right. Not conservatives.

Mr. Trump’s order said that he was declaring antifa a “domestic terrorist organization” — a designation that does not actually exist under U.S. law
Here's the problem with just saying he can't do that, it doesn't matter if he can't when he already did. To his cult, that's all it takes, legal doesn't matter, only that Trump said so.
It means that there is no way to prosecute people under that definition via current legal frameworks.
If you're a terrorist they don't have to prosecute you.
Prosecute maybe not, but persecute... Given the number of crimes he's been tried for and convicted of and his wholesale dismissal of the court's validity when things don't go his way, I'm sure extrajudicial is good enough for him.
So, would that include any WWII vets?

Voting, arresting, impeaching, are all things that don’t happen with a fascist government, so calling for those by name is a waste of time.

I think it’s based on where Lemmy.world is hosted and there is a law that they can’t spread violence advocation or something so there was a lot of comments that were removed during the Luigi stuff.

It’s a commentary on Jordan, and other mods, removing any calls for action against fascism that are any more extreme than standing on a corner politely voicing your opinion.
They argue that the instance would be liable—which has never happened. Now that any anti-fascist comments will draw the attention of the government, I am curious if .world (and others) plan to err on the side of caution—as usual—or if they plan to grow a pair.

A fat guy signed a paper, who cares? It has no legal weight other than, directing the fascist beura of Investigation, to do what it's been doing for 100 years, targeting leftwing activists and militias. I put more weight in the constitution and the founding fathers rather than these fat ducks.
