Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

If you're trans/gay or anything else the people in power disagree with and you ever needed a sign that you need to get out whilst you still can, this was it.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 21 points 1 day ago (6 children)

What does "radically pro-transgender" even mean?

Also, people of color.

A civil war looms ever larger, a conflict between good and evil.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago

Can we get a Lugi to take this fucking terrorist out? Look at him remember his face. Fucker literally said anti fascist. Goddamn right I am anti fascist and pro trans. Come yourself and get me.

"I dont think trans people deserve to get hurt". "OMG ANOTHER RADICAL PRO TRANS!!!!"

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 4 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

Ok, radical pro transgender is objectively some dumb fucking shit and obviously not a real thing. At least I fucking hope it ain't because there has to be a limit to human stupidity.

[–] aarch0x40@piefed.social 73 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This isn't about terrorism, it's about silencing the opposition.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago

It brings a certain: "Why do you make me beat our children" vibe that I'm just not feeling.

It's the very fabric of humanity that they're going for.

[–] youcantreadthis@quokk.au 35 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Make a note of your local red hats. Their faces. Their addresses. Don't lose this when they leave power. Keep if with people who will be safe.

Remember them. Remember the families who still spoke to them. Remember where they live. They will let their guard down someday.

[–] BeardededSquidward@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 1 day ago (4 children)

I see no path forward with MAGAts that doesn't result in enormous amounts of violence.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 10 points 22 hours ago

They're cowards by and large, so if you get people in power who aren't fascist enablers they'll crawl back under their rocks where they were before. Getting people who aren't fascist enablers in power is a big ask, though.

THAT'S NAZIISM!

[–] SuiXi3D@fedia.io 46 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Uh huh. Good luck, assholes. Gun's loaded and just waiting for you to come and get me.

[–] Unquote0270@programming.dev 11 points 1 day ago (12 children)

Wouldn't that scenario just end up with you dead?

[–] Pollo_Jack@lemmy.world 5 points 20 hours ago

There's more of us than fascists. Most americans are apathetic either way.

[–] socsa@piefed.social 2 points 17 hours ago

When the law break in

How you gonna go?

Shot down on the pavement

Or waiting in death row

You're assuming they would take them alive to begin with. As we saw with the first killing of a self identified antifa, they didn't give him a chance, just shot him dead in his car before he could respond.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 5 points 22 hours ago

Yes. presumably they think it's a better option than the alternative, and they may be right.

[–] Denvil@piefed.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mean to be fair there's a good chance it ends in the death of whatever fuckwit comes after him. If the police have a 50% mortality rate, you're probably going to run out of people who want to be police before you run out of "terrorists"

[–] aquovie@lemmy.cafe 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I wanted to say, "No, instead the police simply won't wait before starting the shooting" but tbh, they already do that. Every interaction will be a Renee Good or Alex Pretti.

Look up Michael F. Reinoehl and the accounts of his execution by federal agents. As well where they all show exclusively through his windshield where his head would be.

[–] DupaCycki@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Which scenario doesn't, sooner or later?

And the alternative is what? Be unarmed and still get murdered? C'mon.

[–] magic_smoke@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If I leave with a positive k:d it'll be a net positive for the world.

Well, if they rere trying to put their political enemies on a war footing, this is a fine way to inspire it.

On a related note, I was unaware there was international funding available. Do I get double payments for being both anticapitalist AND transgender?

[–] DupaCycki@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

Unfortunately all funds for terrorism have been spent on Israel. Please stand in line.

Thanks, non-voters. You helped do this.

[–] WoodScientist@lemmy.world 1 points 15 hours ago

Please stop trying to hurt Democrats in elections. You are a Republican operative trying to divide the left.

[–] youcantreadthis@quokk.au 19 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Thanks party that sabotaged every single effort to build coalition or enthusiasm for any opposition . You're completely blameless.

Stop fighting among yourselves like mindless sheep the oligarchs want you to be. Whatever the election's results, you'd still be living a shitty life. Elections will not get you a decent life, no matter how badly any of us wish they would. Either start organizing or leave the country. You deserve better.
