Whoa shit, totally different guy!

[–] kokesh@lemmy.world 15 points 2 hours ago (3 children)

He is exactly the same man those lowlifes voted for.

[–] Dryad@lemmy.world 1 points 10 minutes ago

This. He’s been the exact same since before the first term. If the access Hollywood tape wasn’t enough to push you away from him, then it’s not a moral issue. You bought the hate. Don’t chicken out now just because his asinine vitriol is starting to hurt you a bit. That feels a lot like seeing the ship has sprung some leaks and trying to get on the lifeboat before permanently getting stuck on the wrong side of history.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 2 points 38 minutes ago

While true, I'm willing to let them believe if it makes them turn on him.

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 5 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

The man they voted for never existed at all -- he was the product of their lead-addled imaginations and wishful thinking.

They voted for a fictional character who happened to have the same name as a real candidate.

[–] kokesh@lemmy.world 3 points 57 minutes ago

I would say they voted exactly for this asshole. Orange fuck with IQ of a pumpkin, pedo rapist criminal.

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 10 points 2 hours ago

I voted for the pedophile rapist that shit his pants. WHAT IS HAPPENING?

[–] A404@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 3 hours ago

Heres even more

[–] ImgurRefugee114@reddthat.com 33 points 3 hours ago

Trump: *doesn't change at all

His base: "OMG"

[–] db2@lemmy.world 104 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

This is not the same man I voted for

Yes the fuck it is.

[–] guillem@aussie.zone 63 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

And half the world has been telling him since 2016.

[–] foodandart@lemmy.zip 31 points 4 hours ago

Oh, but we all have TDS, dont'cha know..

[–] floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 3 hours ago

Wake up?? That would make me woke!!

[–] ZeroCool@piefed.ca 40 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Perhaps this will finally make them wake up

Unfortunately it didn't. Conservatives were immediately telling each other that "it wasn't that bad and tHe RaDiCaL lEfT were just taking it out of context." But as is often the case, the context does not make it any better.

[–] Willy@sh.itjust.works 0 points 4 hours ago

It makes it a little bit better. This was definitely a gotcha sound bite, but it did make me spurt out my drink when he said it that way. Lol.

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 11 points 3 hours ago

Nah.. you get the occasional MAGAt that is brave enough to face their mistakes, but 99% of cases won't. Their pride and MAGA identity is more important to them than destroying the world around them.

[–] Th4tGuyII@fedia.io 20 points 4 hours ago (3 children)

What?! The crooked conman (who literally embezzled his own children's charity) doesn't actually care about the wellbeing of the citizens under his care??

Seriously, how often does he have to openly and blatantly betray his voterbase before they get the hint that maybe what he's telling them is bullshit?

[–] Naich@piefed.world 9 points 2 hours ago

He could get every single Maga hat wearing simpleton, line them up, personally shoot every 3rd one in the head, and the other two would be going "oh, good choice, sir."

[–] foodandart@lemmy.zip 12 points 4 hours ago

He's told them multiple times, they just do not listen, or they hear it and insist its a self-deprecating joke and he's "..such a card.."

[–] A404@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 4 hours ago

It's amazing what memetic engineering can accomplish.

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 12 points 4 hours ago

Man, I wish someone had told them about how disgusting this fuckface is before they voted for him. Wishful thinking I guess /s

Required reading for anyone choosing to engage with freshly wavering MAGA types:

I can see you are regretful. It's good that you are. There's a lot to regret. We are deeply sick as a culture.

The diagnosis is supremacy—an abusive human spirit that seeks and causes genocide and slavery. We are all infected with it, but we haven’t all been harmed in the same way, or to the same degree.

Some among us have been grieving the world they inherited, the theft of what is theirs—but we have not been robbed in the same way.

We are grieving the harm caused by the inheritance that we chose.

Now you have been abused by this culture of abuse we inherited and chose, and that has brought you to the edge of awareness. I'm there at the edge of awareness as well, maybe just a little closer. I've been there for a short time; only a decade or so.

This isn’t always going to be easy, and it’s going to cost us. We inherited a societal sickness that infected us but made others sick. To heal ourselves, we must first seek to heal not ourselves but others.

You have likely been abused in your life, and that is not your fault. And yet what is being done to you is being done first and worst to others, as an automatic function of our society. We inherited that, and we bear responsibility for that. And you have aligned yourself with that for long years, and there is responsibility there, too—a responsibility and a cost. You will not be welcomed by everyone. You won’t be forgiven by everyone. You won’t even be liked by everyone. If you are doing this to maintain your influence, or become the hero, or to gain cheap forgiveness, or to avoid the cost of awareness and conviction and blame, then you won’t last on this healing path.

Healing will involve many pains and many costs, and it will require radical transformation of our beliefs and our lives.

But healing is what we need.

And healing is its own reward. Don't look for any other.

I think current day USians might be the most propagandized population in history. No amount of facts can make a dent in a brainwashed person's belief, pride and ignorance.

[–] Cherry@piefed.social 2 points 2 hours ago

It won’t.

He could murder a child on tv a there would be rationalisation on how it is a good thing.

[–] 14th_cylon@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 hours ago

hey eric, you know what...?

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 3 points 4 hours ago

It makes me happy to see more infighting, every time. I know it's not perfect (what if they replace Trump with someone less stupid and more evil) but it's still eroding, eroding away, another gram of powder to blow it all up.

Some MAGAts even recognize that it's not just Trump. Meanwhile Trump fires others and replaces them with even bigger idiots.

Go on, speed it up. Add it to the pile.

The hubris of stupidity.
