Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

there is no issue that republicans are right about

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

It’s gotten to the point where anything they are for I assume I’m against and vice versa, especially recently.

Who's paying him for this? Make sure to sell the company and its C-suite for spare parts later.

Soon: ______ repeals ban on Trump law forbidding the IRS to go after his crimes in the future.

Womp womp.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

Trump is actively destroyingv the USA

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

Why would you do this?

These are the same people who complained about fluoride in tap water, correct? Yet they're seemingly okay with PTFEs?

Anyone want to tell them what the F stands for?

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 7 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I think it stands for "Fucking hell, look at all those dollars!"
Sorry, what was the question again?

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 13 hours ago

PTFE and chemicals used in its production are some of the best-known and widely applied per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which are persistent organic pollutants. PTFE occupies more than half of all fluoropolymer production, followed by polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF).

The damage this admin is causing won't be fixable for a long time. No matter how hard the oligarchy is punished afterwards... if it is at all.

It won't matter once they get the right to develop AI to fly autonomous drones around our neighborhoods. If anyone dares say anything they can quickly eliminate that person. The rich assholes would not need a government.

[–] regedit@lemmy.zip 1 points 19 hours ago

Yachts don't have cameras underwater and drones can't be that expensive to load with explosives.

There is only one way to undo the damage for good, and that's to get rid of the rot (capitalism) at its root.

Remember all the times those hypocritical child fucking registered Republicans complained about stuff in the water, and chemtrails in the air?

They're turning the FRIGGIN' FROGS GAY!

Pfats are incredibly dangerous and are essentially the lead of our generation. Once again Trump being a fucking dumbass and caring more about his feelings than the facts. It's embarrassing what conservatives have turned into because of this orange sub-human.

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 3 points 18 hours ago

Way worse than lead. We can mitigate lead. There will never be another human born on this planet without microplastics in their blood.

[–] PolarKraken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 day ago

You're giving Trump WAY too much credit. This is happening for the sake of profits, not Trump's feelings, you think he gives a single shit about this? Beyond just the degree to which it does or doesn't enrich friends and family?

Take Trump away and the same number of people fight to deregulate PFAS. But on the other hand, Trump never met a grift he didn't like and through him all things are possible, no disagreement there.

[–] vapordays@leminal.space 6 points 1 day ago

It would seem to add up that the ruling class wants most people on earth dead

Whether they want it or not (they probably do tbh) they're doing it regardless and don't mind it happening

[–] homes@piefed.world 6 points 1 day ago

Another day on the “How can we be corrupt today?” Administration

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Like this is kinda death cult levels, now

Are we going back to the previous situation or are we now going to encourage and subsidize companies to dump them in the water, especially in places that didn't vote for Trump hard enough?

[–] Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Par for the course

[–] LordCrom@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Of course. Don't you know cleaning that up costs money? What's a few million dead people vs 1% more profit this quarter?

/s just in case

You wanna dunk 'em, get the feces right over 'em.
