And by ancestors, they're probably referring to their grandparents. The last people to be born into chattel slavery died in the 70s.
It wasn't made possible by it. But it was still shameful they were excluded.
What people mean when they say it was made possible by the exclusion of minorities, is that due to the exclusion of minorities, they were allowed to happen.
If it helps, none of those people are ever going to see a dime of it. It's just another grift for Trump.
