I’m still amused he kicked this whole thing off. He was clearly in a k-hole at the time and thought he was invincible.

I mean, he likely is invincible, but watching them self-cannibalise is still the most entertainment we can expect from this.

Also basically admitted to election interference, but nobody did shit about that.

Not only basically via tweet, Trump said it, too.

Look if we gotta deal with this whole bullshit at least we can relish when they start at each other lmfao

Something a lot of people don't seem to understand is that Epstein having your number, even meeting with you, does not constitute any wrongdoing on your part. Epstein was a politically engaged financier and philanthropist as far back as the 1980s, that was his cover and how he laundered his earnings, it was not until the late 2000s that word about his human trafficking business got around, the investigation started in 2005 and in 2008 Epstein was secretly given a deal by the US Attorney's office to not be charged in federal court, and not until 2015 that the investigations began again in earnest.

elon musk is a Piece of Shit for many great reasons, such as the intentional gutting of USAID which is leading to the easily and readily preventable deaths of millions of people including children. We don't need to make things up about him.

Obviously.

But if you’re in the black book of the world’s most notorious paedophile, maybe you should expect some level of investigation.

Guess how many people are in there who haven’t made a massive thing about it?

If you’re innocent, you’d probably shut the fuck up rather than making like all of the noise? These are people who can afford the best lawyers, who are certainly telling them to shut the fuck up.

If you’re not either the world’s biggest moron or very guilty (such that it can’t get worse), you’d do that.

This is not hard.

Sort of in his black book?

A note to find out if Musk wants to show up, but nothing further being listed is pretty much non news to me. I'm more interested in people who went to the island and his pedo parties.

Yeah that would be cool to investigate every case, but Epstein himself and his close associates have been under investigation for over two decades and everything from that investigation is in those files, so if the dudes handling the files say there was no indication that him, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Stephen Hawking, etc knew anything about the human trafficking then we're just spreading the heat out from real criminals like Donald Trump and Peter Mandelson.

that would be cool to investigate every case

Wait, what?

How many people are in there?

What is the FBI for? I’m reading you wrong, surely. I’m sorry if I am, because it sounds like you’re suggesting we shouldn’t bother with this if there are too many perpetrators.

I’m pretty sure you’re not saying that, and I’m missing sarcasm.

e: pretty sure I am. Sorry, I’m a dipshit sometimes, and I’ve been kinda high off and on.

[–] finitebanjo@piefed.world 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Idk what you're not getting here, I said it would be cool to investigate every case. You seem to agree with that sentiment, so idk why you're rehashing it.

There is no sarcasm or I would have tagged it as such.

The rest of my comment is about how we, the general public, not the FBI or the DOJ or the Attorney's office, are reacting to this situation.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Yeah,my point was that you seemed to imply if you’re already a publicly scrutinised person and you’re in those files, you should expect to avoid scrutiny.

That’s not going to happen. If you’re innocent of crimes with children, you’ll be far overshadowed by those who we will see unequivocal evidence for (and that will be leaked soon, you can be sure), so you can mostly breathe fine.

You’d be best off not defending them. It sort of sounds like you’re defending them. I apologise if I’m reading you wrong, but I want all those responsible to pay, and I’m fine with investigating collateral friendships to get there.

[–] finitebanjo@piefed.world 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I just think it's a waste of breath misleading people into thinking everything related to this case is a list of pedophiles, and if it interferes with actual investigation and prosecution of real criminals then it's also actively harmful.

And I am definitely not defending musk, I started this conversation by saying he murdered millions including children.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I never said that at all. Obviously loads of innocent names will be attached to this, and I think most of us know that. We’re not that dumb.

[–] finitebanjo@piefed.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is about US Politics. A lot of us are literally that dumb. FFS, look who got elected president.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

I’m sure it’s frightening, but it’s not going away.

[–] zarathustrad@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I assume he doesn’t even know what guilt is. More like he wants to take everyone else on the list down with him.
