Not to this degree, and they hid it better with some good deeds and human decency.

Yeah. George Bush may be a war criminal, but at least he did a ton of work fighting HIV in Africa. Donnie has no redeemable qualities as far as I can measure

Any good that comes from this administration will be purely by coincidence from unintended side effects of their bullshit.

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Yeah coincidence and just about as likely as a monkey typing out Shakespeare on a keyboard.

Donnie's redeemable quality has been that everything we thought corrupt officials were doing behind closed doors has been proven true and is now done right in front of our faces.

I believe Carter was pretty decent comparatively speaking, which is why he lost the second time around. Could be wrong because I didn't really understand shit back then.

He didn’t understand how to navigate the DC political machine. A lot of factors like the oil shortages and the hostage crisis were largely out of his control, but his inability to get his agenda through congress was definitely his problem.

Carter wasn't a great president, but he was probably one of the best people to ever be president.

Nah, Jimmy Carter was cool.

Yep and Obama was terrible no matter how much he get praised.

I wouldn't go so far as "terrible" considering he did manage to give us the ACA, but "extremely disappointing" - especially with regard to how he dealt with the Republican opposition in the Senate - I can absolutely get behind. Just the fact he let McConnell railroad him on the Supreme Court pick alone totally set up the shitshow we have today, and continues to piss me off. It's very representative of why Democrats are considered merely "Republicans Lite."

He war criminal, deported more people and he started the whole locking kids in cages. Oh and he was president when Snowden told us our government is spying on us. He did jackshit about it. And ACA was a Republican plan especially after he killed the public option. So yes horrible president.

"the use president is evil now?"

i mean the us president ran concentration camps for japanese americans at the same time the us was fighting a war to oppose nazis running concentration camps.

Uhh the Nazi got their whole genocide idea from how the US exterminated the Native Americans sooo...

Yea, this is dumb as hell. Evil is on a scale and Trump is pretty damned special.

Ok but can we have "builds alliances, inspires confidence, grows economy" kind of evil instead of the kind we have now
