First cycle of the dishwasher is just a hot water rinse to get a head start on removing debris that gets drained away. Then it refills and deploys detergent and spends most of the rest of the time in this cycle before rinsing and drying. So, I mean, I don't recommend it, but it will be drained a few minutes into the cycle and the dishwasher will actually clean with detergents after with no pee left. So, it really won't hurt anything besides your relationship with your family/roommates.

Are you not adding detergent to the prewash!?
Quick bury them in the multi hour technology connections dishwasher Playlist!!!
I'm reminded to check out what else he's put out recently. I really enjoyed his EV take last year.
Edit: damn, nothing since the hybrid video. :(
You can if it needs it for baked on food. It's not necessary for most washes though
Glares in Alec Watson
This is the logic behind Japanese toilets having a tiny hand sink over the commode so you wash your hands with the water that’s being used to refill the basin.
Why not use it that way? You’re just going to pee in it later.
I mean it is clean, drinkable water that is used to wash the toilet.
Just piss over your hands like the rest of us, that's plenty clean.

Wtf???
Camel pee has passable antibacterial properties, some tribes shower in it for hygiene.
I prefer to piss over others. I'm selfless like that
That tiny sink is very inconvenient for use.
When space is at a premium, it's a great idea
Hmm, dishwashers are designed to use as little water as possible. The drain doesn't actually drain right away but might be circulated back into the system. No idea what it does with any fluids before it's turned on but I wouldn't risk it.
In mine, any fluids added before starting just sit in the tub at the bottom. The first thing it does after starting is run the pump though, so piss away I guess..
I'll be over later today. Thanks.
Yeah, but not all of it. It leaves an inch or two down in the motor/ filter area.
I like how you answered this seriously as if people are actually going to try pissing in their dishwasher lmao Thanks for the info though, I'll remember this next time I gotta take a piss 👍
Live a little!
This is why I poop in the washing machine. Bigger opening so I can't miss. And, as we all know, it will get... Washed.
I had always cleaned the turd out of it. But now I know I can shit directly into the bleach repository my life should improve.
Now im curious about the design of both your machines, all the regular styles i know of are definitely easier to unload in the dishwasher. Do you have a top loading washing machine? Crawling up on it doesnt seem that much easier
I’d say most people of average height can easily get up on a washing machine just with their ass. And if it’s top load, then you’ve certainly got a nice big hole to shit in. Probably bigger than most toilets, though both come in different sizes. That central agitator might get in the way though, so you’ll probably have to shit to the side of it, or in front or behind. Usually I also have to piss while I shit, and that would get in the way there too. Especially considering splash back. Now ironically you are literarally directly next to running hot and cold water, but you can’t use it to wash your hands, which one should do after shitting. So you might have to go to the bathroom sink anyway. So if you were trying to save yourself a trip to the bathroom you didn’t save any time there. Wiping is probably okay if you have a dirty laundry basket or pile close by. You’ll have to be sure to wipe with appropriate colors and loading groups. Like you wouldn’t want to do one wipe with a towel and another wipe with a delicate item. Again your old friend toilet paper back in the bathroom is saving you time, as you don’t have to sort anything before you wipe. The more I think about this, it’s almost as if having a specific appliance or device specifically designed for accommodating the act of defecating is probably preferable as opposed to repurposing other devices not specifically designed for that purpose. In conclusion, I have my doubts about the efficacy of these life hacks.
Piss in the dishwasher? I'd rather not. I got fired the last time I put my penis in a dishwasher. To be fair she was only 19... There's no telling what'll happen if I had pissed as well
I share a world with these people who have these specific thoughts. I'm not angry about it or anything, just a realization.
They are also able to vote. That does upset me to a small degree. If they are willing to piss in their own dishwasher what are they willing to vote into law?
Quick, someone call Alec to do an hour-long YouTube video investigating this!

Piss in your pasta water, you're about to throw away the water anyway.
If my shower recirculated water id surely piss into it as well. Instead it's all just wasted down the drain...
If they're into it, then why not?
I can just see April spraying over her dishes in a half squat with her pants around her knees.
Go gurl
Well, I almost never do that.
"No, April. That is wrong! Please leave my house party!"

I guess it's good I don't have a dishwasher.
This guy I knew who worked at a dishwasher factory said that when clients or investors or whatever would come in, they would put a birthday cake in one of their demo units and take them on a tour of the plant and when they came back they would open the machine and the birthday cake would be completely gone, spotless.
I think it's doing a lot more cleaning than it needs to, considering industrial ones in restaurants take less than a minute
I think a lot of the time involved is to keep the process quiet, an industrial dishwasher is fast but loud as fuck. I wouldn't mind being given that choice with a home dishwasher though.
Ime dishes get precleaned more before they go into the industrial dishwasher.
You scrape in the trash, scrub in the sink, and rinse/sanitize in the dishwasher. At least that's how my kitchen was, like a quarter-century ago.
I worked as a dishwasher maybe 15 years ago? Nothing needed to be scrubbed. Scrape and put into tray. Once tray was filled slide into dishwasher and pull down handle. Wait about 60 seconds and pull up handle. Slide rack out. Receive 4th degree burns without using a towel to grab dishes.
I used to have to do more precleaning than that with a home dishwasher before I watched Technology Connections
