I feel like this was paid by the epstein class to make leftists look bad with the AI. OR it actually is a normal person and is playing 4D chess to make it look like it was paid by the epstein class to make leftists looks bad...

The first guy who played Elmo literally had to resign due to credible allegations of sexual misconduct with minors.

[–] nocturne@slrpnk.net 9 points 2 hours ago

It looks like it was Elmo's second performer, Kevin Clash

In November 2012, 23-year-old Sheldon Stephens alleged that he had been in a sexual relationship with Clash that began when Stephens was 16, which would be a felony under New York law that declares any sexual relationship with individuals under 17 years of age illegal. Sesame Workshop had initially been presented with the allegation in June, and its investigation found the allegation to be unsubstantiated. Clash acknowledged that he had been in a relationship with the accuser; however, he said the relationship was between two consenting adults. Stephens later recanted his accusation, but two weeks later, another accuser, Cecil Singleton, accused Clash of sexually abusing him when he was 15 years old, and lawsuits were filed by attorney Jeffrey Herman against Clash.

Why do they have to use AI to make this point....

[–] perishthethought@piefed.social 29 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Fair, I should have noticed this sooner.

I can remove it...

You kinda should less slop more better

You didn't use AI, I think it'll be fine. The guy posting in the shot may have, unless they're really good at photoshop.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 5 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

"You didn't use AI, the person whose content you're spreading did, so it's fine!"

It still propagates the use of AI, especially in the form of propaganda (even if it's an argument most of us can agree with). This can only be bad.

[–] Omnipitaph@reddthat.com 2 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

I'm not a fan of generalized statements. Do continue. How is this usage of AI for this statement that most of us can agree with bad?

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Because it makes every argument it's part of generic. It's just a cheap and easy way to make something that automatically agrees with you. No need to put effort or thought into it, just spawn an argument that supports you without anything to back it up.

[–] Omnipitaph@reddthat.com 2 points 1 hour ago

That makes a lot of sense. I suppose I had resistance the idea of it being only bad because it is cheap and ease to use. Having the means of production in the hands of the common people has historically given the common people power, and propaganda has historically been something only available by those well funded.

But there is more nuance to this discussion than I previously considered. Thank you!

Damn radical leftists funded by soros growing their third arms so they can hold up a protest sign and raise their fists.

[–] Hamartia@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

They're a radical leftist so it figures they'd have two left arms. It's pretty obvs tbh.

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

Pretty sure I'm not in there.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 hours ago

“Is Elmo gonna have to cut a bitch?”

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 4 points 4 hours ago

The Trump-Epstein files contain a ton of random emails. Jon Stewart mentioned how he showed up in the Epstein files when they were talking about somebody to host a show one of them thought up. So, I'd be a little surprised if Elmo wasn't mentioned in them, as he was in a lot of memes for a while.

[–] thisbenzingring@lemmy.today 1 points 3 hours ago

My favorite person in the Epstein/Trump files is Rebecca Watson. I love it for her.

(They complain and scheme about her and it makes her such a bad ass)

All I know is the bluesky link in the post.

Do you need proof that big bird was not associated with Jeffrey Epstein? 🙂

[–] Proprietary_Blend@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Yes. A wealthy bird like that? Guillotine without trial please.

[–] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Honestly? Yeah, probably, at this point we do.

[–] nocturne@slrpnk.net 5 points 3 hours ago

Technically Caroll Spinney is in the files as is Big Bird, more than once, and again, and again, again, again, again, again, again, etc. Many of the other Muppets are mentioned as well, but it is all in the context like Jon Stewart. They are talking about them, sharing YouTube links of episodes.
