This is all posturing, the Constitution was amended and it’s not getting un-amended without 2/3rds of states signing on to reverse the 17th.

- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). - Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

3/4 to change it, 2/3 to bring it to an official vote of congress.
Or 3/4 of states need to sign onto changing it.
If that’s how they were attempting to do it, they’d have my support. Well, not my support for the act of repealing the 17th amendment, by my support of their right to advocate for a 28th amendment.
Hell, if it came with uncapping the number of House representative, I might actually support it.
Wyoming rule needs to be implemented.
They’ve done the court packing and gerrymandering. Now they want to undermine the last election that has a popular vote.
A better move (for everyone) would be to flatten the Senate into Congress. Then get rid of Congressional districts and give parties seats based on the percentage of votes they receive.
So they took an oath to defend the constitution (and amendments), and now they want to take away our voting rights. Sounds like treason to me.
Oaths? These cock suckers don't take those seriously, those are just stupid words they make you say to get paid.
I guess we're getting back to the taxation without representation days.
Our far right conservative wealthy and political class are in almost full rebellion against the people, and our centrists are on their side silently, just like 1930's Germany.
I guess we’re getting back to the taxation without representation days.
We've been there for a while. There's millions of disenfranchised citizens who cannot vote for whatever arbitrary reason (people with felonies, US territories, the district being the most egregious example). Our entire system is a complete joke and most people will still defend it.
Many states quietly in 2021 in their voting bills in response to the vote theft attempts of the party in power took away the popular vote determining electors. GA was one. The state legislature can ignore the popular vote and award electors to the loser.
That is how it used to be done, each senator got one elector vote too. But the Senators way back when were also chosen by the state governments.
He’s my representative and that makes me hate everyone who lives near me and consistently elects this asshole.
Would only make sense if we also transitioned to a parliamentary system
No, repeal 2nd amendment first
