“Today, I’m proud to sign landmark legislation expanding on my administration’s work to make Illinois a safe, empowering, and inclusive place for the LGBTQ+ community,” Pritzker wrote on social media. “With my signature, we are a few steps closer to a state where all can live their lives without fear of hate.”

Pritzker then posted a video of himself touting the bills as he prepared to march in Chicago’s Pride Parade. “It’s very important to me that we have a state that stands up and protects the people who live here,” he said. “So I’m very happy, very proud, frankly, to live in the state of Illinois. I hope you are, too.”

Oh wow! The USA has been such a pit of despair about this recently (especially in the Midwest). It's really nice to see this beacon of hope amongst a hateful pit of a region.

Got a bit emotional reading this I can't lie.

2025 - 2026 has been such a shit show I'm desensitised to hearing that some misunderstanding hateful politician made my people's lives that much more difficult.

When you get one who fights not just for you, but alongside you (going to Pride parades), the heart is quick to let that numbness go away as it clings onto a new thread of hope.

This is fantastic news, and is hopefully a sign of good things to come in November. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

This man is doing great work. In addition to the bills he signed so recently, I was interested to learn that Illinois bans libraries from banning books! That's awesome! He's making Illinois look more and more attractive to live in!

I was really impressed by how Pritzker handled trump's ice goon invasion of Chicago, he stood up and got trump to back off.

The one billionaire good guy!

[–] 13igTyme@piefed.social 11 points 1 hour ago

For him to be a billionaire means he exploited workers for profit. He did one good thing, it doesn't make him good.

Broken clock and all.

He's a billionaire only by hurting others, he did this bc he's lining up for a 2028 run. He does nothing for anybody but himself, hence billionaire status. It's 100% all for show! Like pausing gas and grocery tax during last reelection period, only to then start up again once he secured his victory... That gave him an unfair advantage any opposition couldn't do.

The world must be a pretty ugly place through those stereotypical glasses of yours...

Just a realist and you only get to that position on the backs of others.
