Republican - “We want to hunt Democrats!”

Democrat - “WTF?!”

Republican - “Why are Democrats so violent in their rhetoric? This is why bad things happen.”

Enlightened centrist and tankie - "both sides!"

What a piece of shit.

I can't stop thinking about the uptick in lynchings in the South.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 22 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

in various forms, many murders of AA are likely gone undereported, or very little convictions, probably also doesnt hit the news at all, to not disturb the narrative of the south. we also know msms in general dont allow POC crimes to air more than few days to weeks at the most.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

I think it's like that Zimmerman case. It hits the news every now and then, but it's really a strange fluke when it does.

Remember how most of the black male BLM leaders involved with the George Floyd protests in Minneapolis died in macabre and unexplained ways within a year or so after?

[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 4 points 2 weeks ago

Thanks to modern surveillance that they built they were easier to identify. That is the whole point behind all that surveillance. For all we know the number of serial killers didn't drop since the 90s but have chugged along as normal, but they no longer care since it is a passé topic and their surveillance ignores it.

-Free Thinking Alpha Republicans!

She's trying to highlight the shocking nature of his remarks, but really his base's reaction is just "duh". They're past civil discussion.

remember, these are the "pro-life", "all lives", "Christians"

Well, they're one of those things.

"Something something, I can not cope with people havivg a different opinion than me, so I want to kill them, but I call myself freedom and democracy loving."

"...and if any of the people I abuse complain, I'll say that they're uppity about a difference in political opinion"

he doesn't "know" the history, he's still part of it. he's a klansman and should be treated as such.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 21 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Sherman shouldn't have stopped. And when the next time comes, and it looks like it could, then whoever the new Sherman is really, really shouldn't stop.

[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Exactly. They said he would have created hundreds of southern martyrs and bolstered their guerrilla resolve... Good. He should have fucked them as hard as humanly possible and beyond.

If the south had moved up north far enough they would have razed Philadelphia and New York City to the ground and made the massacres national holidays.

Another asswipe KKK neo-Nazi member.

[–] Bluewing@lemmy.world 18 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

He's most definitely a racist. But I'm pretty sure it ain't about anyone's skin color here. He's being very equal opportunity.

He wants anyone that does not think as he does dead.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Do not ever give these pieces of shit the benefit of the doubt.

He is the Governor of a southern state, he knows about Jim Crow.

[–] limer@lemmy.ml 9 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

It’s very common for a racist to want to hurt and kill others besides whom he is prejudiced.

This governor wants to harm and scare both blacks and democrats. Better if they are the same, but either is a target

Should be immediate removal from office for saying that.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I used to think people were generally good, and bad things happening was the exception.

Not anymore, everyone is capable of bad things, but especially the sociopaths in charge who don't care about anything bit themselves.

I should have learned that lesson in high school when slavery was taught. We haven't evolved from that. We just got better at hiding it in prisons.

"Gilead didn't happen overnight. Politicians started saying things that were taken as hyperbolic and then they were elected and these things came true" - The Testaments, episode 3 [paraphrased]

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm just waiting for one of them to drop the N word, and the media normalizes it.

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

They normalized the Nazi salute. Give it time.

[–] TheStaffmaster@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Ask Great Grampa what the cure for Nazis is. I know what it is, but I'd rather not get banned here too.

(hint: It sure as hell ain't "inclusion and education.")

[–] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 weeks ago

Once your party doesn't need your vote, they don't have to listen to you.

And it doesn't matter if it's because they secured their positions with voter suppression and election rigging, or because the opposing party is so despicable that no one votes for them.

As per Timothy Snyder's rules #3, Beware the one party state.

[–] LittleBorat3@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Can people like this be subjected to a battery of cognitive tests and until the results are there they get a vacation from their job? Maybe check liver enzymes too.

[–] brendansimms@lemmy.world 20 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Can people like this be subjected to ~~a~~ battery

[–] sol6_vi@lemmy.makearmy.io 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Or just a battery. Of large guns from a large ship perhaps.

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I would also accept a car battery and some jumper cables.

That's a death threat against many political figures. What's the punishment for one death threat against one political figure?
