I think thirty to sixty years old is a good enough range for politicians. No younger and no older.
I'd go as far as 70. That way you can have a full career in something, then spend your post-work life in public service fixing the problems you experienced first hand. Especially at the local level.
I'd also say 20 years is the limit as a politician. After that, full pension and a permanent ban on any elected positions, and nothing in the private sector that even remotely resembles lobbying.

I like him. I don't always agree with him, but I think he's one of the few that really gives a shit and actually walks what he talks and I deeply respect that. I value the perspective that comes with age too. But it's time for age limits, man. It's past time.

Bernie would end up under contract to some network, and make more in a year than his entire political career, but that's not important to him.
If a senator is absent, their vote should not count. Period. It is not deferred, and nobody can vote on their behalf. It is straight up not counted.
This is what Republicans want for midterm and presidential voting, so why does it not apply to senetors?
This would incentivise them to elect healthy people and quickly replace people who can not do their job.
I want unhealthy people to get elected too! The problem isn't that he's unhealthy, it's that he's cheating. The more we allow delegated voting as a matter of policy, the better represented we'll be.
