More boomers need to die or we need to get rid of the electoral college to make this possible. Boomers grew up in a very different world and are a large reason that this country can't move forward in any meaningful way. Demographically, there are a lot of them and they vote at very high rates. Until they move on, or we stop allowing presidential elections to be decided by a handful of swing states/districts, we are going to be stuck in this ridiculous quagmire. Women/minorities will continue to fight an unnecessarily difficult uphill battle on the national stage.
Waiting for the "But a progressive/woman can never win!" crowd to come in and crow their bullshit.

AOC's age, sexuality, gender, literally any demographic, doesn't matter.
She's charismatic and has popular policy.
That's literally all that matters in a candidate, because it's a popularity contest for people and policy.
That's why Republicans, neoliberals, and billionaire owned media are scared shitless that she runs.
Progressives won't be stopped by the DNC in the next primary, and if a progressive makes it to the general they'll easily win.
We're gonna see some last minute shenanigans like in Maine, oligarchs will risk kneecapping the dem candidate in the general if there's a chance to replace a progressive with a moderate.
Clinton won the popular vote so that shows her being a woman wasn't really that big a thing. She only lost because of the backward shit that is the Electoral College.
As for Harris she didn't lose because she was a woman, she lost because she ran a shit campaign and was a pretty shitty candidate.

I'd vote for her in a heart beat. Unfortunately there is a significant percentage of the US population that will never vote for a woman. Sexism, machismo, and bravado got a lot of non white people to vote for trump
Reminder the only times Trump won was against a woman. Even after both Hilary and Kamala were cool, calm, and collected during the debate there were plenty of people saying, "I'm not voting for either candidate because I hate Trump and [she] is too emotional to be president."
And instead of seeing that what people were responding to about Trump (the system is broken and something has to fucking change, even if they were stupid to believe he would do it in their favor), people decide that actually it's because woman. Sexists exist, therefor a woman can never be elected. Even though half the fucking population is made up of women. The progressive party of America, everyone!

Finally some sense
For the American left, in the 2028 presidential election, there is a straightforward answer to that question: AOC must run for president. If she doesn’t, she is leaving significant gains on the table. Not gains for her; gains for the movement, for the working class, for progress, and for the world.
If the Left really cared about the working class (they don't), they'd let the working class choose their own leader (they won't).
Now, to be fair, this is by no means exclusive to the Left. Neither liberals or conservatives are willing to give the working class any kind of real power or autonomy, either. No one is.
Vote in primaries more.
I think people would be better served by a Senate run from her, in which she has a decent chance to win in New York, versus a POTUS run, for which from any honest evaluation of current voter inclinations in the States beyond NorthEast & West Coast, given the Electoral College system and who controls the "main stream" media these days, as well as the massive cash that would be pushed against her, she has no chance to win - at all. The only possible positive thing a Presidential run from her could do is push the DNC platform a tiny bit towards the more compassionate/empathetic side, but I seriously doubt she would even come close to winning the D's nomination, and even then if she did, the R nominee would sadly end up winning the General election.

Completely agree. She isn’t ready for president, but she could massively help the movement at this time by ousting Chuck Schumer.
The liberals trying to convince her go for the White House at this premature juncture are saboteurs.
To be clear, I think she should run eventually and could make a fantastic president, just not yet. Please AOC, do the right thing and oust that crusty old Chucklefuck.

She absolutely must. As a woman of color it's going to be tough as nails but worst case scenario she will publicly say many good things and even she doesn't win the voices she gets will have quite the meaning.
