I take a massive issue with how society says that as soon as someone is dead we have to forgive that person and we can't speak ill of them.

Fuck that, if that person was a piece of shit in life. I am going to remember them as a piece of shit in death.

[–] S_H_K@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 6 hours ago

Deah by natural causes without facing consequences for his actions doesn't feel like we won... Just saying...

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

The world will celebrate unlike anything we've seen in our lifetimes. I almost compared it to Bin Laden being killed, but that was primarily an American celebration. This fuck's death will be a global celebration.

That means it'll get shoved down the throats of every disgusting MAGAt piece of shit in the country because it'll be too big to ignore. Which means they'll get all snowflakey and butthurt and that'll drive them to the polls to vote for whatever disgusting filth the GOP comes up with next. Probably just more bigotry.

But they were going to do that anyway.

There's no reason to hold back our joy for the benefit of low IQ fascist traitors. They're stupid bigots. Which means they were always going to make the wrong decisions, whether we were nice to them or not. And it's wrong to be nice and tolerate of mean, ignorant pieces of shit.

I'll be in the streets, banging pots and pans and singing songs.

We will show him the same amount of respect he showed others.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

I'll get creative!

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Im pissing on his grave.

Technically pissing in a bottle and pouring it on the grave to avoid exposure charges.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I love that he's not going to get a public grave or really any kind of monument. It would be desecrated on a daily basis.

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

"All we can hope for now is to bury you in secret so your grave doesn't get desecrated!"

Snark needs to give way to violence. All of his supporters are traitors.

"When tragedy befalls a conservative, there must be decorum, reverence, and respect for the departed.

But when tragedy befalls a democrat, we are allowed to turn it into holloween costumes, jokes, mockery, and wishes for the tragedy to have been worse, more painful, etc" - Average conservative.

[–] forkDestroyer@infosec.pub 17 points 1 day ago (2 children)

All someone would need to do is to post screenshots of the various tweets he made when others have died or been attacked. No one would even need to make up words of their own to post about it.

trump post where he says he's glad another US government figure is dead

Remember the Republican collective laugh fit over Paul Pelosi's attack?

Honestly, the nation needs to make a concerted effort to take the tough guy macho stereotype away from conservatives. They're some of the whiniest little bitches I've ever come across in my life and the average conservative looks like they need an oxygen tank. Image is important and that one needs to be stripped from them.

[–] Unpigged@lemmy.dbzer0.com 24 points 1 day ago (7 children)

Why should I be respectful for a dead person when I didn't respect them when they were less dead?

I have fireworks set aside just to celebrate this event. I should probably go get champagne too.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

What I hate the most is that they are gonna Turtle him, like with Mcconnell, to rob us of the pleasure. It won't matter, the day it is officially announced is the day I bring out the fine stuff and blast festive music for 24 hours straight to let the whole neighborhood know.

I remember when it waa official that he lost in 2020 there was spontaneous dancing the in street. The news kept showing live streams of empty COVID streets and then people starting going outside in their masks and dancing.

This time, it's going to be a rager.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

I remember seeing footage of hordes of people celebrating in the streets in every major city.

I'm not looking forward to the national week of mourning in Federal buildings though. Friggen post offices and whatnot will be forced to put shrines out. 😒😒

You're not allowed to celebrate death in c/politics. Apparently.

But I will say this when he kicks the bucket. I won't lose a wink of sleep.

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I will lose sleep.

To partying.

If you can't celebrate Trump's death, then I don't want to be there anyway. Ban me all you want, I'll be poppin' champ all day.

[–] mechoman444@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

I don't see any moral or ethical issue with celebrating someone's death.

Objectively, if the guy was a bad person, then he was a bad person. Literally, the whole world celebrated when Hitler died, and nobody seems to have an issue with that. Now, all of a sudden, we're supposed to be better than that?

I think if you're the kind of person, or public figure in this case, whose death people celebrate, that's more of a reflection on that person than on the people doing the celebrating.

Show Respect!

Counterpoint: Anyone respecting that horrid legacy is part of the ongoing problem and should be dealt with accordingly.

[–] HCSOThrowaway@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

It's a flavor of the Paradox of Tolerance:

If you respect disrespectful people, are you a respectful person?

I would say, "No."

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 101 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (20 children)

I have posted this photo earlier...

It is a collection of small bottles of rum, all but one dedicated to a person, and when I no longer has to share my existence in this world with the person, I will toast in celebration!

Also, I have decided to treat my family to a celebration dinner at a nice restaurant when Trump falls over and stops being a problem.

I will only be respectful, if he literally takes a bullet for someone … and that’s it. If he collapses on stage or dies peacefully in his slumber, I will not.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

Him taking a bullet for someone would not be enough for him to be redeemed in my eyes

America’s most popular gender-neutral bathroom

A man walked to the newspaper stand to buy a copy every single day. The man would take one look at the cover then simply throw the paper into the trash and go about his day.

Eventually the shopkeep became curious after months of this behavior and he decided to ask the guy what he was doing.

"Looking for an obituary." the man replied.

"Obituaries are in the back of the paper, not the cover." the shopkeeper said, a little confused.

"Not the obituary I'm look for." was the response.

Agreed.

There was a famous case in France several years ago, around the freshly dead heinous monster named Jean-Marie Le Pen. His "orator talents" were praised after his death, both by dominant media and dominant politicians, including supposed to be ennemies with him and his legacy. Those who still publicly stood against him and his legacy were told to rospect the dead and were vilified. But as some members of communities he targeted said: "I will respect him in death like he respected us while alive."

The man was a white national-supremacist with ties to the OG nazis. Racist, imperialist, xenophobe, LGBT-phobe, redheaded-phobe(?), ... He very probably participated with enthousiasm in torture and other mass crimes from the french side during Algeria's independence war. (Also, colonialisation is a mass crime in itself.)

So yeah, fuck forced reverence. This guy was a hateful mass criminal, and his death didn't change this fact.

[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 11 points 1 day ago

I will respect him in death like he respected us while alive.

This should be printed everywhere

I have a bottle of Pinot Grigio just for that occasion. And one for Musk, Putin, Netanjahu. The list is long. I will not go onto the streets and celebrate. But I will drink on a monsters demise.
