Probably to be like the ancap flag which is yellow and black. Apparently yellow symbolizes capitalism and free market ideology.
Also symbolises piss, so extra fitting.

It feels like we do so disproportionately per capita (heh).
Also - the US somehow has more horrifying versions of everything. Slavery, for example, was pretty horrible to begin with, but somehow the US managed to create an extra atrocious version of it.
Because it makes it even more offputting to look at it.
I think to have more symmetry with the communist flag i would make it red
