Everyone knows Vance has been simping on Erika Kirk ever since Charlie died. And that he would love to ditch Usha for her, if he could. He's not fooling anyone with this fake rage.

For the record, the culty terminology of calling each other brother and sister is not tied to the polygamy. It just comes with being a member of the cult in general.
It wouldn't be out of place to stop a bratty twelve year old running around on Sunday and say to him "Brother Harris, I've already told you once to stop running in the hallways." (Harris being the last name of the child.)
I'm not saying it isn't 100% cult behavior, but it isn't part of the multiple wives aspect. It's just how they all talk to each other regardless of who is married to whom.
Personally polygamy doesn't bug me. But the terminology is just eugh.

El-Sayed’s comment was a response to that. His claim is that if Vance’s Papaw would have seen a Muslim candidate in the bigoted terms that Vance articulated—as inherently posing a threat to “working people”—then he also might have seen Usha Vance in a similar way.
As a immigrant that grew up in the same Midwest environment, there's no might.
Man I'm really digging this El-Sayed guy. He's not pulling any punches while keeping them all well above-the-belt, and he's not afraid to (figuratively) hold a mirror up to the camera.
Like you know that scene in The Butterfly Effect where Ashton Kutcher's character goes back to when he was a kid and just confidently spouts straight knowledge to a bully about how shitty the bully's life is going to be?
He reminds me of that.
The vice president’s pose as an enforcer of chivalry and rectitude in our politics is ludicrous on its face, given his apologetics for Donald Trump’s nonstop vicious personal smears. But this episode is of interest for another reason: El-Sayed’s stance articulates a bigger point about Vance’s craven compromises with the MAGA coalition’s racist and white nationalist elements that is 100 percent correct.

For me it's always a red flag when the word "evil" is used. While it may be used in non-religious ways, it often has a religious context. Religion has caused too many problems for mankind, and that is why the separation of church and state is so important.
