I had the impression a large fraction of history students are in some shape or form Nazi sympathizers. Haven't heard of leftist history teachers to be a thing tho.

None of my history teachers in memory were anything left of American center. I guess I can't comment on the ones in elementary school since it was basically 30-40 years ago and I didn't have any real political awareness in my single-digit ages. My US History teacher in highschool was decidedly right-wing (and also an asshole who gave us all murderer/criminal/serial killer nicknames, nastier ones to those he liked least).

Lmfao, if your school has a class on the American civil war, you might have a right wing teacher.
Those folks know massive amounts of minute details about that war but always seem to forget that it was about having the South’s right to own people as property.
They always say it's states rights and conveniently ignore that it was the states right to own slaves that was at the top of the list. They will absolutely argue that point and refuse to acknowledge the truth of the matter. I've tried
