Despite the White House insisting he remains in "perfect" health, Mr Trump fed the flames of speculation during a rally in Dalton, Georgia, this week, ahead of the November mid-terms. Addressing the crowd, the president made an offhand comment about Chinese president Xi Jinping, who he said "was here last week".

In reality, Xi visited the US and met with Mr Trump during a three-day trip from September 23 to 25, around three weeks ago. The apparent blunder sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with one user labelling him "Dementia Donnie". Another wrote: "He doesn't [know] what day it is. It's gonna get worse as he goes along."

FFS an entire article about his mental decline at the rally and didn’t even mention as he left, he wandered right by the limo door being held open for him and into an empty field before being herded back by a gaggle of panicked agents.

Did you see video of this? I'll look for it if you can give me a hint where you saw it.

Informal poll for the commenters: how long do you think the WH will insist he's alive after he dies? Whenever that day happens, they'll say he's in perfect health until its impossible not to. But how long will it take?

I think at least a week.

[–] banter6888@lemmy.zip 2 points 14 minutes ago

They've been doing it for months with Mitch. Definitely at least a week.

He needs emergency surgery to remove that ugly growth on his neck.

Oh wait that's his head. Oh well, proceed.

He looks like he's already had at least one minor to moderate stroke

[–] Z745812939054@lemmy.zip 10 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

i for one can't wait for the first official TFFD-- trump's finally fucking dead day, already my favorite holiday, which i may extend to at least a week of celebration

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

I'm taking the week off of work. No question.

[–] GuyDudeman@lemmy.world 7 points 2 hours ago

We’ve got champagne in the fridge just waiting…

[–] ImgurRefugee114@reddthat.com 2 points 1 hour ago

It's unfortunate that nothing would change.

[–] joekar1990@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago

He's already had a couple that's why his face droops and he wears that exoskeleton thing to help him walk.

[–] DrSleepless@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

I don’t want to imagine him having a “stroke”

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 13 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

He's going to live a lot.longer than you think. And if you think he's just going to pack up his classified documents and leave the Shite House in 2029, you're very mistaken.

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 13 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

They're gonna Mitch McConnell him for as long as they can.

[–] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 2 points 15 minutes ago

See, I think after the midterms they are going to kick him out for Vance and try and parlay the next two years into 2 presidential terms for him.

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 6 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

At least we won't have to hear his stupid dementia rambles any more..

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 38 minutes ago

I'm sure grok has enough to make it up. Hallucinations are a plus this time.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 12 points 2 hours ago

It's "health hopes", not "health fears".

[–] spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works 32 points 3 hours ago (3 children)
[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 2 points 42 minutes ago

“Hopes”

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 16 points 2 hours ago

I think the only fear here is that he dies before the elections, and the conservatives get some kind of sympathy bump instead of him being alive dragging them down....

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

"Fears" because you're posting a shitty, sensationalized tabloid.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 hours ago

Are they really health "fears", though? Or are they more like "hopes"?

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

Even this level of hope doesn't justify a link to the Express. Some publications should always be ignored.

[–] mr_rusty_shackleford@lemmy.world 12 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

There are dozens of things a day to criticize him for, a minor misstatement like this is not one. This is clickbait garbage.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 41 minutes ago

This happened at the same rally:

[–] Z745812939054@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

i can, and will, criticize, ridicule, mock, shit on, etc this fascist nazi rapist loser for dozens of things and this. it's not difficult.

i say bring on all the "clickbait garbage." if it's shining light on trump's asinine incompetence and lack of fitness to serve, then it's not garbage. yea, sure, anyone could mistake 3 weeks ago for last week. i don't care. fuck trump

[–] mr_rusty_shackleford@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

The dude is a real life Eric Cartman. The more you are outraged, the more you control you give him. He thrives off being constantly in the news, good or bad. The only way to beat him is to ignore him. And vote, maybe...

that's solid advice, except trump is actively wrecking the country and the world. trump starts another bullshit forever war just because he can, and your suggestion is to "ignore him"?

no. i'll shit on trump until the day i die.

"and vote." ok. we'll see if voting is even a thing that matters in our fascist country in a couple weeks.

White Church of God members in my spot of rural USA are expressing their regrets.

[–] Kirk@startrek.website 4 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

This is a right wing tabloid

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 hour ago

It's right down there as one of the worst.

[–] Flying_Lynx@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 hours ago

Give it two weeks....
