As he stumps for midterm candidates, the president has been especially eager to talk about the physical appearance of some men.

The writers' room for this is so lazy. They decide to go with the first gay president as the republican counter to the first black president and then really decided to write their big villain as full evil gay? We gotta retire these lazy tropes.

I suppose I understand why they are bringing this up, but it feels really bad that the endgame move is 'lol u gay'.

It IS weird to bring it up like he's doing but it just seems like it's harming gays more so than trump

Nobody cares that the homophobic, xenophobic, racist bigot President is gay. The point is that he is a massive fucking hypocrite and titanic piece of shit, and this is just another piece of evidence to that point.

I think it's more "look at the hypocrisy" than "gay bad lol", but I also wonder sometimes whether leaning into that bias leads to harm. I think it depends how it's done.

The reason homophobics get called gay, is because the center for "disgust" and "sexual attraction" are like right next to each other in the brain

Because sex is gross, and evolution needs us to ignore that.

trump has always been homophobic, but has always clearly been attracted to men he considers in someway "powerful". If a man is "weak" trump hates him, and isn't attracted to him. He views them like an unattractive woman.

As people age, their mental lines blur.

He may have never actually had sex with a man (or boy). But the Kinsey scale is pretty much the only good thing to come out of IU, and trump is attracted to men, he's just repressed it for 80 years and now his broken brain just can't repress it anymore.

So it's not:

Lol, trumps gay

It's more:

Trump's brain is so rotted he can't hide that he wants to bang dudes.

They just seem to think people on the left would think and understand the issue instead of just reading headlines at face value....

From what I can tell, it's a fairly new behavior on Trump's part. He used to only do this to women and girls. That's what makes it newsworthy.
