Paxton’s lawsuit claims that a get-out-the-vote advertisement campaign from Harris County’s office essentially constitutes reverse racism because it encouraged Black and Latino voters (groups with historically lower access to elections) to vote. Harris County is Texas’s most diverse county, notably housing Houston.

Damn they aren't even hiding their racism. Literally suing because ad ask people of color to vote.

Warrenton county Virginia mailer. Note the marriage amendment specifically.

[–] dreamkeeper@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

They couldn't even make it without a bunch of AI slop.

Their arguments against gay marriage are just so transparently hateful. I've seen people on FB try to claim the amendment is "unnecessary" as if the rest of us don't realize that the maga bigots would ban gay marriage the very first chance they get. Gaslighting liars.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Yup. They always try to claim "religious liberty".

Goose: Religious liberty to do what, motherfuckers?

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.cafe 2 points 3 days ago

Virginia isn’t for lovers.

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 1 points 2 days ago

Just focusing on the one about marriage. Why are they concerned that a law about who can marry who, would have an effect on schools? Do they want to marry school children?

[–] KC_Royalz@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago

No you don't understand. They don't mention white people therefore it's racist to white people. /S

Murikkkans, lolololololololololololololol!

Ken paxton is such a petty criminal, he literally swiped someone's $1000 pen. Pure instinctive, crime-of-opportunity style larceny.

If ken paxton was not white, ken paxton would be calling for ken paxton to be deported.

Any time I see pictures of this douchecanoe, he reminds me of that alien from the first men in black movie that is wearing that human skin asking for sugar water.

[–] SPRUNTnsfw@fedinsfw.app 11 points 3 days ago

He's just a giant cockroach wearing a poorly fitting Ken Paxton suit.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

This is offensive to douches and canoes. They serve useful functions.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.cafe 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Villain straight from central casting.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

from central casting

Given how often donnie has talked about men and women that he's sexually attracted to being "from central casting", and now seems to be in the throes of gay dementia, I wonder how long until he has a literal casting couch for people he'll endorse, give pardons to, cut in on his massive looting of America, add to his administration, etc.

[–] zoloftt@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

Dumb as hell. He's saying it as if white people couldn't possibly be receiving the same ads jajajaja

[–] Harvey656@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

The only good vote is a white vote. /s

[–] notsure@fedia.io 8 points 3 days ago

White people hate it when everyone else uses their tactics. Weird. Maybe privilege doesn't feel so good when equal.

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 7 points 3 days ago

Conservatives want to repeal the 19th. The 13th is next after that.

[–] Zephorah@discuss.online 7 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Anyone can sue for anything and if you don’t respond you automatically lose.

It’s no doubt a SLAPP suit. There’s no intention for or belief in winning, the suit exists only to threaten someone into silence/insction. Trial attorneys are a specific type, the expensive type. They usually want a 4 figure retainer just to read/review.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

He's just jealous that a black lady can run for President (and lose!), and still have a county named after her. Where's Paxton County, huh? How can that be fair at all?

[–] Punchshark@lemmy.ca -2 points 2 days ago

Land of the free! Murikkkans, lolololololololololololol!

Explain to me how they have less access to voting?

[–] Floon@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 days ago (2 children)

They are given fewer voting locations for larger populations, leading to long lines, and requiring a lot more effort from the voter to get their ballot cast.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Also, given this morning I was reading about the Southern "correctional" system and the way it was run, and the bullshit schemes for in-person voting comes up on this thread, I've been thinking about this clip.

"Is there racism in America?"

Usually done with surgical precision.
