Mr. Buria told Mr. Driscoll that President Trump would not want to stand next to a Black female officer at military events, the officials said.

Some immigrants with chronic health problems were swept up by ICE in Minnesota, leading to missed medications and, for one man, missed chemotherapy sessions.

ICE stopped paying for medical care months ago, so there are probably a lot more stories like this.

The courts act, but they don't act in a vacuum. Had the protests been violent, or had there been no protests at all, we could easily have seen a different outcome

Republicans do stuff so ridiculous that you can't easily tell.

What's actually happening:

  • Truth Social stock value dropped sharply because its not a platform with any real monetization potential
  • a fusion company with no working product wanted to sell stock to the public so its founders could make off with a bunch of money
  • so they merged to create hype for the truth social stock and to let the fusion company list shared without having to undergo the usual scrutiny

What hasn't happened

  • the silly name the Onion came up with

What might happen:

  • large transfers of money from the federal government to the combined firm

I expect it'll be like Bloomberg's conversion of a bus depot to a jail for people opposed to the Iraq war: toss up some fence-based cages inside and dont bother making sure people are treated acceptably.
