A song about cuckoldry at a wedding? Are all of my friends just super vanilla, or is that not a weird choice?
I've been to 2 weddings in a row where they had "Bye Bye Bye" I don't think people really care about the lyrics
We live in a world where the Republicans think that "Born In The USA" and "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "YMCA" celebrate their values.
I would say Mr bright side is the most vanilla song you could play. It's like known for being the go-to song for basic people.
It's kind of about cuckoldry. It's also kind of a guy complaining about the friend zone. But I mean really it's just a teenage angst song about confused feelings.
It's too much of a banger to deny though.
I might be dating myself, but I’ve never known anyone who actually liked the song, besides my nephew for a week. Played it? Yes. It was on the radio for ages, after all. Enjoyed? No.
It broke the record for how long it was on the UK top 100 list. That was in the mid 2000s IDK what the time frame is to have it be the popular song during weddings but that's why it gets played. I think also as a dj it's a guaranteed hit for the same reason even if it's not the bride or grooms absolute favorite song.
I liked it, always preferred Andy, you’re a star the most but the whole killers lineup was enjoyable at the time.
I am born 99 and have never heard the song on radio. And while I love the early 2000 pop-rock/pop-punk stuff, I only got to know the song 2021. So for me it is still a banger. Though I really like the Killer's first album anyway
It's a nostalgia thing for sure now.
My favorite was Hinder's "Lips of an Angel" being played at weddings.
Oh, eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww! I think a community to roast wedding playlists might do society a solid.
