What is an "unwanted famine"? Nobody wanted a famine. Lysenko was wrong, and the government backed him because they didn't know he was wrong. It was a mistake, not a deliberate strategem to harm people.
Exactly.
The British Empire has caused at least two deliberate famines that I can recall off the top of my head - the one in Ireland, and the one in India.
That's ... maybe not quite the flex you think it is.
