Bush said this May 13th, 2008. Poor guy had to go a whole 8 months without golf before Obama inauguration. Oh no!

Bush said this in 2008, but it was in response to this question:

Q Mr. President, you haven’t been golfing in recent years. Is that related to Iraq?

THE PRESIDENT: Yes, it really is. I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the Commander-in-Chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be as -- to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.

Q Mr. President, was there a particular moment or incident that brought you to that decision, or how did you come to that?

THE PRESIDENT: No, I remember when de Mello, who was at the U.N., got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man’s life. And I was playing golf -- I think I was in central Texas -- and they pulled me off the golf course and I said, it’s just not worth it anymore to do.

This is in reference to the 19 August 2003 Canal Hotel bombing. To that date, the Iraq War (launched 20 March 2003) had been going on for about five months.

It's not hard to check something like this before you say it.

And yet he still publicly played golf October 13th 2003. After stating that he quit in August 2003.

Here's a fun one from 2002 while thousands were dying in Afghanistan. This from 2002

Can you feel that? It's like a breeze from goalposts rushing past.

Mr Bush's last round of golf as President dates back to October 13, 2003, according to records kept by CBS news.

Image showing that there were 63 months between October 13th, 2003, and January 20, 2009.

You can just admit you were wrong instead of goalpost-moving this hard. We both agree George W. Bush was a terrible president and a piece of shit.

I didn't move the goal post, I was wrong. Guess what, so were you and Bush still fucking lied. Not to mention he had no issue golfing all the other times before that during the Afghanistan war.

Remind me is August the same as October? Is October in August? I just don't know how calendars work. Moving the goal post, talk about fucking projection.

Definitely not projection, given you jumped right past acknowledging you were completely, utterly wrong in a way that was trivially debunkable (and frankly seemed dubious just from common sense) and just started ranting about other stuff that wasn't relevant to why you were wrong – like him being a piece of shit in 2002.

Not to mention he had no issue golfing all the other times before that during the Afghanistan war.

You're still acting like I'm trying to defend George W. Bush as a person and not just, like, showing you were confidently wrong.

Remind me is August the same as October? Is October in August? I just don’t know how calendars work.

You're being so obnoxious and unwilling to take the L with any dignity. The point of my original comment wasn't asserting that he quit that specific day on 19 August; I provided that date as context for the bombing he was talking about, because it was 23 years ago and not everyone remembers or was even alive for that.

My point was the quote "you haven't been golfing in recent years" and that he quit c. 2003. Which as you pointed out turned out to be October 13, 2003. That is, I wasn't trying to assign a concrete date to when he quit; I was trying to show you were completely off-base, which you were.

Chill out.

Edit: Worth noting, even, that there's a fairly logical explanation some have pointed out that Bush may have suffered a torn meniscus which would make a sport like golf pretty painful. (He would have his knee replaced about 10 years later.)
