Where the fuck are the fucking Democrats springing into action?

[–] galacticbackhoe@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

Chuck Schumer has said nothing. He would happily watch the entire squad be subjected to this.

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.today 46 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (4 children)

Neoliberals are conservatives. That's how we ended up here.

Conservatism is fascism and it has infested both parties. Allowing conservatives to continue existing among us will always lead to fascism.

Our push to the left must be merciless and unending. Normally, peace cannot cure fascism. We must accept that violence may be necessary to survive this.

[–] john_save_america@lemmy.zip 1 points 13 hours ago

Conservatism is not fascism. In no understanding of either definition could either be considered congruent with the other. Fascism is an extreme form of conservatism, as you’re well aware.

Yup. When is the last time we saw dem leadership organize the party effectively, or release meaningful pushback to culture war rhetoric? It’s nada all the time with these clowns. Fucking Schumer and Jeffries apply all their efforts to serving billionaires and are happy to be unpopular as long as they get to lead the losing party. I’m sick to death of hearing how brilliantly Pelosi handled Republicans during her tenure— she literally fucking led us right to where we are now. Fuck anyone who serves billionaire interests.

You're not helping.

Sucking on the corporate teat

[–] impairedimperator@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

They're doing everything they can: talking about it. We voted them into the minority, they have no ability to do anything.

[–] RFKJrsBrainworm@sh.itjust.works 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's amazing when the god-damned Nazis are the minority they sure accomplish a lot by stalling everything every way possible

[–] impairedimperator@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Correct. It is easier to stall and destroy than it is to build.

[–] whalesnrainbows@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Which Dem leadership could also certainly do to the MAGA agenda if they wanted to

[–] impairedimperator@lemmy.zip 0 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

They do, pretty consistently. At least the parts of the maga agenda that aren't stopping everything else.

[–] whalesnrainbows@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

I have yet to see them bring the same energy that republicans bring when they are in the minority.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It must be a great life, living without object permanence.

Lol wtf does some random article from 2019 have to do with today?

"Right now, Democrats have no power to do anything but talk about the thing that happened this week, and they are talking"

"Well SEVEN YEARS AGO they criticized the lady they're talking about now!! On a topic that ha nothing to do with her immigration status, which is currently being discussed. EVIIIL"

Genuine question, not trying to be insulting: are you stupid?

[–] chilicheeselies@lemmy.world 0 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I believe the point OP is trying to make is that they have no problem calling her out, but won't come to her defense. Why? Because they actually answer to corporate interests, and what's happening to her now doesn't matter to those interests.

If their corporate donors called them and expressed their concern, you better believe they would have a press conference and be all over the Sunday political bs shows talking about it.

[–] impairedimperator@lemmy.zip 3 points 14 hours ago

But....they are. There are many Democrats, including minority speaker, calling this political persecution. OP is conveniently ignoring that, because it doesn't fit their narrative.
