The idea that there is a functional difference between individual choice and collective outcome is apparently insurmountable.
Yeah but if I'm with 10 friends, and 9 of them want to go to this bar, and I want to go to a different bar, we all go to the bar I don't want to go to and THAT'S NOT FAIR BECAUSE MY VOTE IS SUPPOSED TO MATTER!
No it's more like the bar that they go to secretly poisons your drink and raises prices. The other bar does the same but at a much faster rate. I don't wanna go to either and I'll always advocate for another bar.
The only problem is, the other bar is on another planet and you can't get there no matter how high you jump, and no matter what you do all of you will go to one of the bars available, there is no way to not go to the bar. Right now 6 out of 10 of your friends for some reason move you to a bar that poisons you instantly, and you can influence them so you go to another one, you'll still be poisoned but will live another day and continue building your backyard rocket so you can get to another planet with non-poisonous bars.
The purpose of a system is what it does. We are all trying to make someone else personally responsible for this mess instead of critiquing the systems that got us here. Meanwhile the leadership of the democratic party openly states they would rather loose to Republicans than have to negotiate with the DSA.
The purpose of this system is to do what most active people in society want. Right now the most active people are crazy evil lunatics motivated by spite and hate, and sleezy moneybags motivated by greed. Everyone else don't participate in the system all that much, so it doesn't do what they would like to do, but refuse to tel the system that.
Collective is made of alien matter apparently.
