Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

“This action would be nothing short of catastrophic and would destroy the credibility of the U.S. in the international community,”

LOL. That ship sailed long ago, on November 6, 2024, when Americans elected a child rapist as a President.

All while MURDERING people over alleged drug smuggling

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 134 points 1 week ago (7 children)

Wait... he's killing fishermen who might be trafficking drugs, but he pardons a major narco-boss? WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com 54 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He's a corrupt cunt

Nothing is surprising any more

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What would surprise me is if there is a successful assassination and the GOP doesn't start another civil war

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'd like to see him assassinated, but I want it to be slow and painful

The US isn't on the brink of civil war, despite how it looks. That's why Drumpf is using ICE as his personal thugs. He could whip up the rednecks for free, but they're too useless. They'd have banded together when Obama was president if they were capable

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

He watched on Jan 6th and commented on how many fat losers were among them to not actually get the job done.

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Further proof they know those are just fishermen

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Eh some arguably are but there are videos of the ones they think they'll get the least blowback from and those are multi engineer v hulls with dozens of rectangular packages front to back. Those ones would be stopped either way since that's traditionally been a red flag for drug trafficking. That said normally you stop the boats and arrest and attempt to turn them to get bigger fish in your net not the guys paid like a thousand dollars to drive boats. You want chemists and labs not jose the fisherman who couldn't pay his bills and turned to crime.

[–] sausager@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Someone in the Hernández drug cartel paid trump, obviously

[–] tidderuuf@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Those fishermen have not paid the piper.

[–] INHALE_VEGETABLES@aussie.zone 6 points 1 week ago

You gotta pay the troll toll to get into the USAhole

[–] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Of course, he was a head of state. He shouldn't have even been charged. Duh.

I hope this strips off more MAGAts from the group.

If they even hear about this it will be filed under abstract concepts they don't care about, like Honduras.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Doubt it, sadly.

I guess he likes his blow with his child hookers

It’s just about the money. Once you realize that the more everything makes sense

[–] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

Either Scarface has dirt on him or this is just more distraction and "flexing" of power.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 33 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I had to check the subtitle: yes, this person is in a US prison.

It wouldn't surprise me if Rump tried to pardon a corrupt ex-president in a different country.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

He tried in Brazil

[–] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

We're going to WAR with Venezula over Drug Trafficking!

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I know very little about anything, but I'd bet Venezuela has oil or some other resource and the US is trying to goad them into doing something they can use to justify invasion

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

I'd bet Venezuela has oil

and win
