She sells magical crucifixes and has warned of consequences from God for those who don’t stand with the president.

The president’s spiritual advisor, Florida-based televangelist scammer Paula White-Cain, said at a book-signing event this week that saying no to Donald Trump is the same thing as saying no to the Christian god.

While speaking during the event, White-Cain recounted how the president asked her to join his Evangelical advisory board before his 2016 inauguration, saying, “He’s got a strong persona, don’t get me wrong. Don’t start a fight with him.”

“Why would the evangelicals come out and vote for him?” she asked before saying that “God told me to” join his advisory board.

“Because one thing I said, ‘I’ll never do politics,'” she said. “But when it came down to it, it wasn’t about doing politics. It was about an assignment. To say no to President Trump would be saying no to God. And I won’t do that.

Isnt this the plot line of the latest series of The Boys?

[–] Heikki2@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago) (1 children)

The fact that people think Trump has a soul is alarming. His existence alone should disprove god.

[–] partofthevoice@lemmy.zip 1 points 51 minutes ago

The Christian god, perhaps. There’s also the deistic god, the first cause god, the pantheistic god, … so many gods. Our society kind of sucks at understanding god. There are so many definitions of god that don’t require concessions in science, yet the one that is attacked so often is only the anthropic god. Which is too bad, because it just leaves people feeling like they’re missing something important about community connection. When all we can agree on is that god is bullshit, we don’t have a common value set that helps us organize into larger structures. All we get is fucking Pilates workout groups, coffee shops selling us overpriced fruit bowls, and weird desperate attempts for connection with the gas station clerks.

Yes.

So people grasp this maybe more tangibly:

Between 25% to 35% of the US population is Y'all Qaeda.

They're completely delusional, psychotic religious extremists, who literally believe that they speak and act with the authority of God, and thus cannot be wrong.

I've often heard Americans say that one of their greatest strengths is how bipolar they are (with a more positive spin). Well now we're seeing the insane side in control of everything.

The manic side, I guess?

And Democrats are the depression (mental, not economic) side.

That makes their red (seeing red) vs blue (feeling blue) make sense, too.

Funny, I had dinner with God just last week and He said this girl was an idiot.

[–] Bigfishbest@lemmy.world 12 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I'd like to know which one of the writers of The Boys has an actual working crystal futuretelling sphere. I have some questions about a lottery.

[–] imjustmsk@lemmy.ml 5 points 4 hours ago

FOR real, although they cleverly write their script and make changes based on current political and global situationts while shooting the show.

Turns out White-Cain is actually Cain, and we are all Abel being betrayed for doing our best. Let's hope that curse from God doesn't wipe out the country and sticks to just these traitorous jerkoffs.

[–] deathmetaldawgy@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 hour ago

I mean, While trying not to be a Reddit atheist here, if there is a Christian god there’s no way they aren’t a fascist god. Lmao. Look at the state of the world! It’s the classic “either God is not omnipotent or is malevolent”. With a god that allows this kind of untold suffering, possibly even creates it according to these Christians on earth, why would you even need Satan ? Would Satan also not be a good angel for, you know, dealing with every single bad person that’s ever existed for all of eternity? Idk I went to church way too much growing up

They've never actually read their own handbook.

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 6 points 9 hours ago

As in, "you can say it but he'll never hear it"

Then God is a traitor, a racist, and a pedophile.

Bring back the concept of «Heresy». Because this is it.

[–] angrystego@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago

They will bring it back, you'll see. Everyone disagreeing with Trump will be the heretic. That's the way heresy works.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 16 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

Well, yeah... Did everyone not see that image he posted?

Jesus punches Trump into hell

Oh, shoot, sorry... This is the one Iran posted in response to his post. Just freeze it at the first frame, everyone. Let's be adult about this.

Tell me you're gonna burn in Hell if it exists without telling me you're going to burn in Hell if it exists.

Her official business, Paula White Ministries, has told its followers that it can “assign an angel” to those who pay the ministry $1,000. The angel will allegedly “give you long life” and “be an enemy to your enemies,”

Yeah but then it becomes a bidding war. What if someone else already paid for a divine hit against you? God loves everyone but loves cash even more.

Of course these scam goblins love Trump.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

That's basically indulgences for protestants without even claiming to be about after you die.

Also, sub divine spiritual beings willing to accept payment in exchange for enmity towards one's enemies are typically not angels. Magic practitioners who work with angels aren't doing that shit, and the ones who do that tend to go to demons, unaligned spirits, or gods.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 5 points 14 hours ago

She's gotta afford all that plastic surgery somehow.

Funny how all the anti-trans "altering the body that God gave you is a sin" people are so quiet about that...

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 13 hours ago

Question is that while obviously they know they are gifting they are targeting wealthy individuals.

Are those people the ones fooled or are they also on this grift?

Here's some real Christianity for you:

Christ said it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Slime balls through the centuries have tried to weasel their way past this simple truth with convoluted and ahistoric readings of Christ's words. But at the end of the day, the historical Jesus was a poor person. He hung out with other poor people. His friends were beggars, lepers, prostitutes, and social outcasts of all sorts. He lived like a poor person. He spoke like a poor person. He lived with other poor people. If you wanted to join his club, the first thing you had to do was give away all your wealth. He said rich people don't go to Heaven, and he meant it.

There is no such thing as a moral billionaire. There are no billionaires in paradise. Trump and his cabinet are a carnival of the Damned. I do not claim to know what level of wealth damns a person. But by the time you've hoarded enough wealth for a thousand lifetimes, you're certainly past that point. There are no billionaires in paradise. In the end, every last one of them burns.

Okay that quote is being very much misconstrued, assuming the body of the post is the entire article.

First, she was contacted by God to join Trump's advisory council. Then, Trump asked her to join his advisory council. In this particular scenario, saying no to Trump would be denying God's will.

That is very different than a blanket "Trump == God"

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago

I didn't get that message from the title. It doesn't say Trump is God

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 5 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Maaaaybe, but she's still cray cray. Start at around 37 minutes even. She's saying that Moses had to do battle to take the land in the bible. All of her ministries seem to be sounding smart about very nit picked parts of the bible that she is very confidently wrong about.

There sure are plenty of fruit cakes in the USA...yikes!! When religion becomes scary .

[–] HermitBee@feddit.uk 7 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

saying no to Donald Trump is the same thing as saying no to the Christian god.

The right thing to do, because each has a documented history of being an utterly despicable despotic cunt?
