He then said that the episode underscored why the White House needed beefed up security, and its own ballroom.

And there it is

They're not the only ones to pull shit, they're just bad at it...

Like, they picked something he hates and never goes to, and made a big thing about him going. It makes sense now that it was never going to happen and they were just drawing as many eyes as possible.

I saw Sports Center for the first time in like a decade last weekend, they were covering Wrestlemania as if it was an actual competition. Even when one of the "top 10" was someone openly cheating, and then they did an interview about how much work it took.

Like, the weirdest part was it felt like modern "political analysis" where everyone just pretends it's not rigged and the current "champ" is a blatant cheat.

[–] agingelderly@lemmy.world 22 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

This is why they were reporting about that "leak" that trump was going to say something stupid, to get people to watch. It's like some corny soap opera writing

covering Wrestlemania as if it was an actual competition.

This has a name: Kayfabe.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 12 points 5 days ago

Right...

And on the wrestling broadcast it makes sense.

A third party doing it on any day besides April 1st is different

[–] architect@thelemmy.club 9 points 5 days ago

Because it’s all fake. They are faking culture and forcing it down our throats. All these YouTubers coming out of nowhere acting fucking stupid like clavicular? That’s Peter Thiels doing. Fake fake fake.

Instead of following culture and reporting on it as it happens organically they are faking culture and forcing us to fall in line. That’s why everything feels fucking wrong now.

And, the worst part, they are using the third world to do it for pennies. Destroy democracy for literally a hundred bucks a month just repost this shitty YouTube/kick/twist propaganda. We are so fucked.

I can’t decide which is funnier, Kash Patel being cucked in a real active shooter situation or Kash Patel being cucked in a staged active shooter situation.

3 days ago there was leak saying that he plans to stage something to leave the event earlier.

There's probably no conspiracy theory in play, but I do think it's funny that the first WHCD he attends as president because he hates the event and doesn't understand it ends as soon as it starts because of a gunman. Creating a gunman distraction to avoid getting roasted by the press is not beyond Trump but also who out there doesn't want to see him dead at this point? It's just that I'm not sure which answer Occam's Razor falls at this point because false flag and honest attempt seem about equal likelihood!

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 25 points 5 days ago

So apparently one of the awards they were going to hand out tonight was for investigative journalism relating to the Epstein files.....

[–] Aqarius@lemmy.world 22 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I do like the idea of doing drastic, insane stuff to get out of awkward social situations. Best I've heard so far is Clarence Thomas trying to repeal Loving v. Virginia so he wouldn't have to file for divorce.

If the attacks are all fake, its incredibly poor false flag, because nobody feels bad for the prick except his absolutely ardent fans.

If they're real, it should prove to everyone how absolutely hated he is, because no other US president in recent memory has had two assassination attempts that were publicly reported.

[–] P1k1e@lemmy.world 29 points 5 days ago (4 children)

3 if you count that homeless guy who was caught at the golf course

Three. There was the staged rally shooter, then they caught a guy trying to get into Mar a Lago with a gun, now this one.

Gerald Ford survived two attempts in the span of like two weeks. Three if you count airplane stairs

So for those of you like me who hadn't heard the news before seeing this, apparently some guy rushed through the metal detector area at the White House correspondents dinner, but was stopped by security staff.

A bit like rushing Area 51 but if someone tried to solo the mission.

If you go to Reddit r/conservative it’s selling. It’s always the same the attacker donated like 20 dollars os something to Democrats one time.

My fear they could use this to take out freedoms, spy on peoples social media, or even worse say it’s a mental health problem be critical of them and start to get so called “dangerous” people by their speech.

This second assassination theatre production is why we need to release the trump/epstein Files! He was reading a prepared statement very soon thereafter. It had to have been pre-written.

[–] AndrewZabar@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The dude is gonna drop dead pretty soon anyway. He’s starting to look like Palpatine.

"Americans why are you not trying to shoot this guy" someone tries to shoot this guy "FAKE!"

(/s -- I do understand where this sentiment is coming from, but it's just a bit too early to tell what it really was)

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 39 points 5 days ago (3 children)

Well, the one where his ear got scratched, the FBI refuses to investigate it. That definitely makes me curious. They also seemed to have set positions for photographers to get his picture as he raises his fist with the flag in the background. There's certainly some strange things going on with that.

I’m not a person who believes in many conspiracies but, the first WHCD he attended since 2016 and there was virtually no security at the hotel?

If you ever been in a city with a military base when the president or VP land, you know that doesn’t make sense. You don’t even need to be that close and they are on you.

[–] Manjushri@piefed.social 18 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

The BBC says he was last at the WHCD in 2011. He has never gone as president because he is too much of a baby to let himself be roasted.

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 26 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Is that the one where Obama roasted him so he decided to destroy the country

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 11 points 5 days ago (6 children)

there was virtually no security at the hotel?

Were we looking at the same event?

The hallways were full of uniformed Secret Service agents and there were several plain clothes/undercover agents in many of the initial images.

There were also many uniformed local police (one took a round in their bodyarmor).

There were magnetometers for screening guests.

There was a fully kitted counter assault squad standing by close enough to be on stage in about 10 seconds.

The airspace was restricted and there were agents on the roof with counter drone weapons.

There were multiple layers of security.

All he managed to do was to sprint through an initial screening point and right into a hallway full of federal agents and local police where he was subdued.

Seriously there are multiple headline updates conflicting with each other. At this point I need a interview with the Secret Service agent who was shot to believe anything.

[–] starik@lemmy.zip 23 points 6 days ago (4 children)

I’d like to believe it is a false flag, but I’m cursed with not being a moron, so I don’t automatically think everything is a conspiracy. I associate that kind of thinking with the MAGA crowd, honestly, but of course it’s not exclusive to them.

[–] shawn1122@sh.itjust.works 23 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (3 children)

I used to feel that way about people who said the world was run by a group of elite pedophiles.

Now here we are, openly living in that world..

I am not sure if was staged or not. But after his post as Christ and attacking the pope, his numbers with Christians were really low.

It’s a coincidence this person made a big post attacking Christians just before. For sure will help his numbers with this group

Can anyone tell me what is going on? I'm getting a bunch of assassination attempts on POTUS memes and haven't read the news as it tends to be BS mostly.

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 13 points 5 days ago (2 children)

There has been an assassination attempt on Trump (or somewhere else in that table, IDK). Apparently they caught the guy.

Real information is something we will only have tomorrow. Or never. But people want to talk.

He shat his pants and they needed an excuse to get him out of there.

[–] AmbientDread@piefed.social 10 points 5 days ago

It's more likely the gunman was there to shoot at the press that TFG has vilified for the last ten years than an AA on his corpulent personage and his minions.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Dunno, the media is loudly spinning him into a hero. And average low-info Americans tend to believe what they're told.

Let’s say they’re all fake, and they ramp up the frequency.

Now it’s so so common place the security guys already expect some guy with a riffle to walk in the back door.

“Ah mr assassin today? Alright pass on through.”

Except that, one day that’ll be the real one 🥳
