I guess he forgot:

  • Pete is a war criminal
  • Pete is a Quentin Tarantino fan
[–] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 month ago (5 children)

Whats wrong with Tarantino now? :(

[–] procrastitron@lemmy.world 36 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That was a sarcastic reference Hegseth quoting a fake bible quote from Pulp Fiction thinking it was real.

[–] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 month ago

Oh good, i am mostly out of the loop on american politics nowadays. Just glad Quentin still gets to worship feet in a thin veil of immensely successful cinema

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 month ago

He has always been a creep.

He has made some brilliant movies, but still a creep

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

apart from forcing his fetishes on actors, saying the n-word in every movie, bad mouthing actors, hospitalizing them, saying Polanski was innocent, incidents like saying "I'm not your slave, you're not my master" to a person of color when asked about his glorifying violence, calling modern music of black origin, "ghetto," saying he knew about Harvey Weinstein and did nothing, taking cheap shots at Bruce Lee and selling Pulp Fiction NFTs?

[–] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Literally all of that would require me to be interested in him as a person enough to track these controversial personal tidbits. Is he a nazi supporter, sexual offender, anything like that?

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

"I can excuse the n word but I draw the line at nazi supporter"

[–] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

...yes. It's in his art, policing art is literally 1933. i might not like it or even be uncomfortable with it but as long as he makes movies about shooting fucking slavers after they say it, he gets a pass.

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

He has 11 movies. I dont think there's n-words in Dusk til Dawn, both Kill Bills and Basterds. The two movies you're referring to are Django and Hateful 8. That still leaves almost half his movies.

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

Is he a nazi supporter

He's a zionist, so yeah

[–] QueenHawlSera@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Pulp Fiction is legitimately a terrible movie, and people who like it only really like the dialogue. When you actually examine the story, it's an incoherent pile of dogshit where no scene has anything to do with any other scene.

[–] MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That's because it was originally written like that, it was meant to be multiple short stories, it was only later on he decided to try and connect them together by using the same characters.

[–] QueenHawlSera@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

So he randomly pasted multiple scripts together, and if it didn't make sense... Oh fucking well.

[–] Hell_nah_brother@thelemmy.club 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Nooooooo

I mean it's not like I was thinking he was a great guy, but he made a movie about killing Nazis for fuck's sake. How does he not get it? The Bear Jew will be a Arab Semite in the remake 30 years from now.

[–] Hell_nah_brother@thelemmy.club 2 points 1 month ago

That’s what these fucking zionist trash do. They mud the waters until you are so confused you give up.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 month ago

Doesn't he live in Israel as a self-proclaimed zionist? And he loves using the N-word...

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 35 points 1 month ago (3 children)

lol. These people know nothing of Jesus’ teachings. He taught to love everyone and share your stuff and be kind to each other.

If these people ACTUALLY stepped into a church, they’d spontaneously combust

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

American churches are filled to the brim with people like this, so...

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Probably. I'm not in the USA.

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

One of the reasons I left Christianity was when the pastor preached it was impossible to be a Christian and a Democrat at the same time. I wasn't somewhere in the deep south, I was in Illinois.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Kinda depends on which gospel you pick. The four gospels don't agree on Jesus' character.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

I prefer the Gospel of Thomas or the Gospel of Mary. Those are apocrypha though

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Oh yeah, those are fun ones.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

They sell bibles.

[–] Lasherz12@lemmy.world 24 points 1 month ago

The height of irony here is Muslims at large, including in Iran, view Jesus as more of a fundamental figure in their lives than anyone in this administration, including the "spiritual adviser" who is just a fucking loony dipshit conwoman who steals from cancer-ridden grandmothers for a living.

It will never not be the case that Pete Hegseth is a fake human in every aspect of his life, and his assertion of an identity can be used as absolute proof of the exact opposite if any effort is used to compare it to the affirmative position.

In a way it's brutal proof that atheists hold the correct views when the heavens haven't smited this abhorrent admin instead of being so permissive to the suffering of literal millions of his supposed children.

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 12 points 1 month ago

Even if everything the Trump administration said to justify the war in Iran was true, even if the obvious lies and the excuses that conflict with each other were somehow all true, whether we attacked Iran or not wouldn't affect American freedoms in the slightest.

So, here's the simplest truth: Pete Hegseth just lied about why he sent Americans to die.

It seems like an innocent piece of propaganda. Politicians have been saying the same lie for years. But it is a lie, and it's an obvious lie. If you're okay with this sort of lie, you might have something wrong with you.

[–] BigMacHole@thelemmy.club 12 points 1 month ago

This TWEET makes me FORGET all the Blasphemous Things Pete Hegseth has done and Said!

Jesus was murdered in the Middle East

Americans murder in the Middle East

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

wait i've seen antisemites use this logic so forgive me but this is funny: Americans murdered Jesus

[–] lauha@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Pete is definitely a Point of Sale

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Two simple truths:

  • Religion is bullshit and your dilusions are hurting people.
  • In America, the ones that survive are left to rot on the streets. They don't seem to have any freedom.
[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

I also found it very out of touch that he said this on Memorial Day a holiday that’s not really religious, but it is Meant to show respect to those who serve and sacrificed for this country.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

My family is in the lodging and motel business, and we would get unhoused guests occasionally. One time, my brother offered a free room for a Vietnam vet, but the man said he doesn't want anything for free. Americans do terrible war crimes in every war, but I don't think any disabled person or elderly deserves to die like that.

[–] QueenHawlSera@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago

I used to be a live and let live "They're not hurting anybody", kinda person about religion. Used to get into debates with Reddit Atheists about it.

The MAGA cult killed that part of me. Religion should not be tolerated as its effect on humanity is a net negative, all it is, is denying science.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

America's fallen haven't died for freedom since the end of the second world war.

[–] CptOblivius@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

But they did die for oil, pedophiles and to prop up the military industrial complex and other corporate interests.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

There's so much value in the teachings of the rabbi, but it was hidden and mixed with a lot of Roman/Paulian nonsense like that one when the religion was created. If Jesus thought you didn't have to do anything (so you could just be the worst of cunts but say you "beliefffff in da Jebus" and you'd somehow trick God) actually to please God and go to Heaven then he wouldn't have preached at all, nor would he have become a martyr of monotheism, lol, but whatever. "Deus Vult" is nothing new, Western colonizers seem to love it, and it has nothing to do with big J.

[–] Rekorse@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The religion and stories simply serve to enable selfishness ego and greed.

Theres a reason the after church crowd is the worst to provide customer service to at a restaurant or otherwise.

[–] QueenHawlSera@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

You're raised to think God cares about you specifically and is invested in what you pray for. You either grow up and realize God's not real, or you become a self-centered asshole who thinks there's a man in the clouds giving you license to be a shit head.

[–] QueenHawlSera@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

Freedom? Hahahaha, I'm transgender, I'm going to a fucking concentration camp.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

It's so funny when someone obviously takes the screenshot of their own reply

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago

Those were two complicated lies! I see what he's doing. I believe that other guy way more than I believe the war alcoholic.
