It's better than nothing, but in this day and age $4 million feels like peanuts. Israel is probably spending $4 million a day bombing the shit out of them.

$4 million is enough to make it look like a lot money to the average person but not enough to actually do much at all. Even the most minor of domestic infrastructure projects would easily cost more than this; $4 million in today's economy is nothing, unfortunately.

Israel probably spends this amount per hour. Per minute during an active attack.

Curious and looked it up.

The Bank of Israel reports indirect costs of $600 million per week (mainly due to work absences), while the Ministry of Finance reports daily direct costs of $246 million.

It's not the end of the story, and as you say, it's a a step in the right direction at least. And it's much better than what the US does, or what Russia and China do in their hemispheres.

Yeah, it looks like the goal here is to get the thing set up to provide an option for other nations to pour resources into.

Didn't they pull funding from UNRWA after Israel did a massive smear campaign against it? UNRWA was literally the lifeline for Gaza.

The best way to encourage a 2 state solution is by sanctioning Israel for the genocide they're perpetrating and the apartheid they're enacting against Palestinians in Israel.

Not to mention that Israel's settlements plan is literally to subvert the chances of a 2 state solutions. So good luck with "educational lessons" to bridge the gap of distrust.

They restored it about two months later, after receiving an interim UN report on the original allegations.

Glad that lifeline has been restored, but there is no two state with settlements and the settlements are purpose-built to not allow two states.

This funding just seems to be about changing attitudes, and I wonder whose attitude they'll work on changing - the oppressed or the oppressor.

Ask Lebanon how their two state solution with Israel is going.

I can almost guarantee this will do literally nothing other than delay and punish Palestinians in their goal towards national liberation

Oh boy, a whole 4 million. Hey didn't Canada dump more than 20 billion into oil and gas last year?

The two state solution died with Yitzhak Rabin after he was assasinated.
