America is what happens to every corporation when the middle management have finally all been promoted over the threshold of their actual abilities.

[–] chahn.chris@piefed.social 1 points 8 minutes ago

Well the government really can’t do a good job at anything anyway so this is just an opportunity for a business to charge a monthly monitoring subscription to local governments, maybe called Disease Alert. So some states will have the data and some won’t, and it won’t matter because you really need global systemic responses to disease defense but capitalism is much more better than big dumb government.

This argument is intentionally as incoherent as whatever the fuck the cdc is currently up to.

The only thing worse than explosive diarrhea is surprise explosive diarrhea.

[–] BarnWolf@lemmy.world 8 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I've thought about this since the beginning, they're trying to cull us without having to do it with their own hands. They know exactly what they're doing when they stop monitoring things like dangerous, deadly parasites.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 2 points 49 minutes ago* (last edited 48 minutes ago)

Yes, fascist eugenics is the only thing that makes sense of current US Government policies.

[–] friend_of_satan@lemmy.world 1 points 39 minutes ago

Ooooh, ok, so I have Worm Brain to thank for this awful fucking experience I'm going through. Thanks Obama!!1

[–] xenomor@lemmy.world 14 points 2 hours ago (3 children)

Didn’t RFK have a brain parasite at one point? His parasite advocacy makes a lot more sense if you consider that he really might just be a brain worm piloting a vaguely human shaped mecha.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 hour ago

I still cannot help but wonder if the cancellation of BrainDead (2016) was not a conspiracy....

[–] breadsmasher@lemmy.world 9 points 2 hours ago

at one point

implying the brain worms ever left

[–] DmMacniel@feddit.org 52 points 3 hours ago

If you don't test it, it doesn't exist!

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 4 points 1 hour ago

They got tired of seeing that shit. Literally.

[–] nul42@lemmy.ca 29 points 3 hours ago

Just as expected, if you elect parasites to office you get parasite friendly policies.

[–] aarch0x40@piefed.social 35 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

That’s freedom for you!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

[–] NoForwardslashS@sopuli.xyz 14 points 2 hours ago

What is freedom if not freedom to blow your ass out?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 7 points 3 hours ago

It's more "efficient" to give more money to oligarchs. While everyone else gets sick.

[–] blarth@thelemmy.club 2 points 1 hour ago

That makes total sense, why would the CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL track a parasite or whatever.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago (2 children)

Funny - I'm having explosive diarrhea right now

[–] YurkshireLad@lemmy.ca 2 points 46 minutes ago

Thank god you can’t upload a smell and phones can’t download and play back smells.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 1 points 47 minutes ago

Argh, now we've all caught it from you.

[–] Astronut@lemmy.zip 22 points 3 hours ago

And of course everything has gone to shit!

[–] SGGeorwell@lemmy.world 10 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (2 children)

RFK Jr is obviously in the pocket of Big Parasite after what happened.

[–] ferrule@sh.itjust.works 1 points 55 minutes ago

He did have a brain worm. Was it on accident? I don't know.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 1 points 55 minutes ago

It’s more the other way around.

[–] eddanja@lemmy.world 11 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Fun fact: Your asshole makes the same exact movement as your mouth does for both 'poop' and 'explosive diarrhea'.

[–] somethingsnappy@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

oooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONOOOOOOOooooooooo?

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

OH YEAH

Kool-aid man what the fuck fix that wall before my parents get home

[–] mrmacduggan@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 hours ago

They certainly flooded the zone, huh.

[–] Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Keeping tabs on what the CDC hasn’t been testing for may now be the most efficient way to determine what diseases are circulating.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world -1 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (2 children)

That's not how any of this works....

We studied the shit that was likely to have an outbreak

Republicans cancelled all the studies for anything that wasn't an active outbreak.

With no one keeping an eye on anything, outbreaks are happening, and we don't have early warning signs before an outbreak.

Like, the CDC doesn't waste a lot of time studying things that are extinct, and everything not extinct is "circulating", just hasn't had an outbreak on.

It's like you believe the Republicans bullshit that these studies aren't needed

[–] Colors@lemmy.world 8 points 1 hour ago

I don’t want to speak for the person you replied to but I just want to point out that this was probably a joke, with the implication being that the CDC is currently ineffective due to current administration policies, and aligning with your viewpoint.

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

This is unrelated to the topic, but I must ask.

Why do you separate your sentences with line breaks?

It's incredibly awkward and unnecessary.

Thanks.

[–] No1@aussie.zone 2 points 1 hour ago

They stopped monitoring Trump?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 9 points 3 hours ago

I wonder if Corey Doctorow's thesis about the enshittification of platforms extends to America.

[–] LordMayor@piefed.social 4 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

Well, yeah, the parasites are charge, now. Just look at the expression on RFK’s human leather mask. It’s like that alien from Men in Black.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I thought he looks like Sutherland in the 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

[–] Ariselas@piefed.ca 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

Sutherland never looked as dead as RFKjr, but Donald must have done some research to get the facial expression right.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

It was like he was wearing an RFK Jr. suit.

Now give me sugar ... in water

[–] Danarchy@lemmy.nz -3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Going to the states is safe enough just don’t drink the water

[–] EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Actually this outbreak is because of uncooked fruits/berries/vegetables. Basically the farm workers don’t have bathrooms or handwashing stations, so they go on the side of the field and return to work without washing their hands. Then poop bacteria gets on the produce they pick and it makes people sick.

In the United States the average farmer is a millionaire with a 6 figure income and they could easily afford to have port a potties and handwashing stations. But they’re too cheap or lazy so 1000+ people have gotten sick.
